ok that looks awful, it looks horrible and you've burned the sugar by heating it without water, which makes it taste like burns, and also adding the butter to the burnt sugar made it burnt as well
and never whisk the egg with the flour straight up, its a huge mistake that would make the flour absorb all the egg's smell and causing the pancake to smell horribly
this is the worst recipe i've seen in my entire life

On the contrary, when making pancakes, its perfectly fine to have a very lumpy batter. Trying to get the batter to be super smooth means you run the risk of overmixing and developing to much gluten, which will give you rubbery, dense pancakes.
