Remember when Nicaragua and Venezuela and Bolivia made valiant efforts to pull themselves out of the depths of poverty and made great strides in education, and restructuring their economies in order to benefit the majority? Remember all the resources the US poured into destabilizing them – to prevent it spreading throughout Latin America? It is still going on and this is creating desperate people everywhere in Latin America. As long as people are desperate to escape the never-ending cycles of poverty, our borders will be crowded with people attempting to escape.
