the intro had me laughing cuz OH HO HO HØ GORDON, you have no clue how shit this island is my man, no clue

BTW; pegao is not a dish

  • ErrbodyLuvChriz on October 14, 2021

Wtf is this, no one makes pegao’ on purpose it’s just the bottom crusty rice from the bottom of the pot. No one used left over rice to make pegao. Este tipo anda Algarete 🇵🇷

  • K Y on October 16, 2021

I prefer Puerto Rican hookers over a Puerto Rican crispy rice dish.

  • Red 7134 on October 16, 2021

That's some tasty looking fried rice.

  • John Velazquez on October 18, 2021

Gordon I'm revoking your cooking license. You just created your own dish.

  • Blaa on October 19, 2021

Gordon, please redo this dish, because even just as a Puerto Rican rice dish, this is not it!. Non of what you showed in the video screams Puerto Rico to me. This is more like a Mexican friend rice or something. Your spices are off. That looks bland to me. Where is the Sofrito, the Adobo, sazon and achiote marinated chicken? Im no top chef but I at least know how to make Puerto Rican food. This is not it

Everyone defending his version of cooking are only helping to colonize and monopolize an entire culture and its history. Thanks! While y'all follow "his way" y'all are forgeting to pay respect to the people who originated this dish which isn't even a dish but instead a product of the cooking process. The rice we make is the way it is due to who the people of the island are and had to go through. Most dishes were made due to the cross between what scrap foods that the Spanish would give the Taino natives and the African slaves who would all come together and collaborate with what little they had. This lacks any acknowledgement or respect to any Puerto Rican.

  • Marvic Carmona De Jesus on October 20, 2021

The chef Ramsay just make a little mistakes calling this pega’o because this is a “Sambumbia”. Please correct the Title

  • CyberTurner850 on October 21, 2021

It's funny how everyone is just making a big deal of a simple dish that is made in Puerto Rico. "It's. Disrespect to my country", like Get out of here with that bullcrap. it's just a dish, Y'all take it so hard. Y'all complaining over a dish that not everyone will get right. But I guess not everyone is that smart to comprehend it that way right.

  • PM SD on October 21, 2021

Tons of grease and oil .

  • InkyBlackSun on October 21, 2021

I want to know where that gray chicken came from. Where is the rice pot?

  • titobanshee23 on October 26, 2021

Broo you fuck the rice 😅

  • Carlos Rodriguez on October 27, 2021

Ramsey that isn't Pego, that looked like a stir-fry

  • Alexander Soto on October 27, 2021

As a Puerto Rican… yes, that’s not the way pegao is made but still… the finished product looks almost the same… it looks good. I don’t understand the hate in the comments

  • MARMAEMARU LOER on October 29, 2021

can Gordon make a Puerto Rican dish
newsflash no he can't wtf is this as a Puerto Rican I'm disgusted this looks like a stir fry

  • Wise Beast on November 1, 2021

To answer the title: Not on this video.

  • Jaime Murcia on November 2, 2021

Puertorricans are so sentimental about shit like this, people that follow Ramsay knows that he takes some of recipes from different cultures and then he adds his approach to them!!! He’s NOT puertorrican he’s from England people relax,, smoke a joint and enjoy his recipe also!!

  • PlanetJeannie on November 3, 2021

That looks like arroz mamposteao. I mean looks like version of it… 🤷🏻‍♀️ Props for showing love to our island Gordon!

Let’s name this new Puertorican dish: “El manjar del borracho”
    “The drunks delicacy

Use them leftovers for the hangover 🤣🤣

  • Chris Torres on November 5, 2021

My grandma gives him 2 thumbs down!😂😂😂

  • N T on November 5, 2021

I love this idea! It may not technically be ‘pegao’, but I have known people to mix pegao up as a whole rice and meat dish, so I find this rather creative! It’s the ‘spirit’ of pegao; those times we would eat the pigao off the bottom of the pot, wishing we had a whole bowl of it. And here it is!

  • Kirsty Figuereo on November 6, 2021

    TSS Spanish fried rice

  • Sebi on November 7, 2021

No no no NO NO NO NO NO NO.
    This is so wrong

  • Jo Poveromo on November 7, 2021

  • Juan Ortiz on November 9, 2021

I am just gonna answer the question in the video title.

No, he could not make sticky rice ( pegao ). Epic fail.

Still think that whatever that is ( I think it is a Mamposteao Pegao a Caballo ), that it’s tasty.

  • Jacqueline Toro on November 11, 2021

Oh my lord, 😱 who teach that poor man that recipe and named it pegao. Eso tuvo q ser una broma…

  • Madison Mcgaughey on November 13, 2021

Omg I am for Puerto Rico thank you for all the lovely words for us I love your videos.

  • dianegron on November 15, 2021

OMG, chef, why you didn’t visit an abuela before trying to pull this one? 🤦🏻‍♀️

  • Blaa on November 16, 2021

Just because he is a world renouned chef does not mean he knows everything. If he knew anything about puerto rican cuisine, he would not have made this atrocious mess. Funny how so many Puerto Rican's can agree that he messed up, yet all y'all ignorant uncultured idiots think because it is Gordon, that he knows more about a culture than it's own people do. We do not use eggs, we do not use spicy sausage, hot peppers, we do not use butter, we do not cook our rice anything like this at all! If you are not puerto rican, your opinions do not matter.

  • Passmetheadobo on November 18, 2021

All my fellow boricuas are just watching this video like: Um Gordon…ACTUALLY no 😂

  • Food Eat Technology on November 27, 2021

Mami and relatives from Bayamon, PR…you are all right, the "pegao" or sticky rice was the result of making rice with anything. When my mother would make arroz con pollo, I waited for the stick rice from the bottom of the cooking pot. (unfortunately it was an aluminum pot because heated aluminum is not good for the brain)

  • Brandon Alamo on November 27, 2021

I'm puertorican and while I do not doubt this taste amazing whoever taught you to make this was a troll this isn't how you make it cause you don't make pegao it just happens when you make rice you just put oil in the pot water and rice and hope for the best

  • Arnie Gonzalez on November 28, 2021

I'm sorry but this is NOT our arroz pegao.

  • Karla Rivera on November 28, 2021

Gordon I love you and I can appreciate the twist, but that's not how we make pega'o (crispy rice) This one you fucked up royally!!! Making pega'o is an art, I'm yet to master.

  • Caxel on November 30, 2021

Trust me Gordon, you wouldn't like actual pegao. It's just burnt rice at the bottom of a pot. Nothing special.

  • Caxel on November 30, 2021

Who let this man get tricked. Someone take him to the viejas in the mountains for some real recipes

  • Franchesca Rodriguez on December 1, 2021

To answer the video title: “No, no he can’t”

That was a terrible attempt at making a Puerto Rican dish.

  • Sōra on December 3, 2021

  • Chiari Johnson on December 6, 2021

I'm surprised you haven't received death threats screwing this up…That was NOT Pegao!! LMAO!!

  • Mr. McRee on December 8, 2021

    Ironmouse doesn't approved your Pegao.

  • K NaTURaL on December 10, 2021

I eat pegao with fried egg or left over stewed beans with a slice of aguacate

  • PRPAPI on December 10, 2021

PLEASE anyone watching this video HEAR ME!!!!!! This is is not Pegao!!!!!!! Pegao is rice (whether white, yellow or mix with something) that is left at the bottom of the aluminum pot that has become crispy from the cooking. Once again this is a non Puerto Rican trying to make up some version of something they do not know what they are talking about!!!!!

  • Frao Medina II on December 14, 2021

I'm Puerto Rican That is not a dish it is the stuff that sticks to the bottom of the pan it is a byproduct of making rice some people eat it I don't so many dishes he could have made he chose this crap

  • •Nana - Studio• on December 16, 2021

    That's is not Aroz pegao….

  • 3941602 on December 16, 2021

    Mexican food is way better.

  • 3941602 on December 16, 2021

Ah its gonna be salty anyways.

  • Bryan Moreno on December 17, 2021

    That’s a 2/10 for me

  • Jason Hansborough on December 19, 2021

Gordon really is one of the greatest chefs and restaurant owners there has ever been. He worked hard and put everything on the line when he opened his first restaurant. He deserves all the success and so much more. I love the way he takes dishes and makes them his own. All chefs restaurant owners could learn so much from his business plans
