The name that I have is not the name I was born with. I never liked being called by my full name. I used to say the shortened version of it. However, for official business I was forced to use my full name. I always knew in my spirit that the name I was given was not the name I was supposed to have.
Several years later, the name SALEEMAH came to me. It had such a beautiful sound and tone. It sounded so feminine and beautiful. Upon hearing and saying it, I made the decision to legally change my name to SALEEMAH MUHAMMAD. I have legally had this name for the past 45 years. I know God gave me that name. It has a beautiful meaning and I love to be called by it. No I do not allow anyone to shorten my name. I only use my full name. I thank God for naming me.
