I had a layer of fluid on top of the batter when I poured it in the form. It looked all good when i put the eggs in the chocolate mixture and then it looked good when I put that back in to the eggs. But then it started to look a bit, crumbly almost but still quite together but then when i poured it in to the form it had this layer of fluid that came out. And it got even worsw when I took it out of the oven. Some kind of oil was pouring out of the thing. Completely ruined everything. It turned out crumbly and dry yet very oily, absolutely disgusting. What happend? Anyone? All help is much appreciated!

Reminds me of a birthday card I got once that said, “I tried a dessert called Death by Chocolate… But it only made me stronger.” This dish could be nicknamed Death by Chocolate, in my opinion. I had it once (a different once than the one with the card) and I remember bright beams of light accompanied by a feeling of insurmountable bliss. So I skootched my chair to evade the glint of windshields in the parking lot. I doubt you'll read this but, If you use powdered chocolate instead of flour in the pan the cake won't look all dusty.
I've been clarifying my butter lately, would clarified butter be OK or does it need to be regular butter to be solid enough?
