As more people visit Mount Everest, trash is being left behind in Sagarmatha National Park and hard to manage. What are your thoughts on this issue?

  • Malachi Bedwell on June 24, 2021

Ain’t no laws when you’re drinking claws.

  • jacob martinelli on July 1, 2021

they should design and make an elevated rope trolley system that would span from the base of the mountain region to the peak to attract more climbers and make it all more accessible by using motorized cable cars.

  • Global Netizen on July 3, 2021

Almost all of the climbers were from rich countries who their gov lectures the rest of the world about not to trash the environment. I guess their citizens were not lived up to their gov words, in fact they did the opposite when no one watching. Hypocrisy at its best.

People are pigs. Can you imagine what the bottom of the ocean looks like. The planet will be better of with out people some day

  • GHOST.RANGER on July 12, 2021

Everyone that tries to climb Everest should be checked with a list of everything they are taking up the mountain and when they come down be checked with everything that comes back including urine and fetus in containers if there is anything missing climbers should get charged $5000. PER ITEM.even for a candy bar wrapper. I KNOW Everest would be alot cleaner if they took action on the climbers. If people do pay the fines then that money can be paid to people that clean up others messes.

This is why you should never let elitist liberals into your park.

  • Native American Feather on July 16, 2021

Sad. The world needs to see the truth for what it is. Shame on those that destroy beautiful things

  • Bergsman100 on July 20, 2021

I just climb mountains which I can do by bringing all my equipment and food myself (including tent) and I bring everything back. That is one reason I am not participate in the circus at Everest.

All of these ignorant people here outraged that Everest is getting dirty are so separated from reality it isn't even funny. If nobody climbed Everest it would just be an insignificant mountain, it would not be the primary economic driver for an entire nation and an achievement that 99.9% of people could never live up to.

It is not a pay-to-play event, it requires extreme mental fortitude and years of training. The vast majority of people that climb it are middle and upper-middle-class professionals that have spent years fantasizing about the journey, not the exploit itself. People that trivialize Everest fall into a single camp, and that camps name is "ignorant".

Hi National Geographic, Mr Jason Morris DFX101 from yeah the current Short Course Climbing World Record guy see aehy used to be on speaking terms with Angels get this see when Sir Edmund Hillary finally reached the Everest summit Arch Angel David went to talk to Edmund and for a joke Arch Angel David manifest business clothes on himself so Edmund said "Is it warm?" and undid his coat then nearly froze to death yes Edmund did his coat up again see a while before Edmund got to Everest's summit the Angels went there with hammers and chisels and made the peak around 1m square and chiseled "Angels whir ear" aka "Angels were here" see last year aehy got Devils to go to the Everest peak and trash that so now the peak is pointy again.

WHY even have subtitles of the Tibetan stuff if it is completely 100% WRONG?! That is just stupid!

  • Incognito on August 21, 2021

    Lack of respect and gratitude.

  • Me Me on August 27, 2021

The narrator sounds like a dumb teenager narrating a children's video.

  • Claudia E on September 19, 2021

Hikers seem to be the most self absorbed people in the planet. If you have to go to the highest point in the world to probe or find yourself then chances you’ll spend your whole doing the same. I’ve no sympathy for them and anyone going should be made to pay a fine for literally polluting the world.

  • Matt McKneely on September 29, 2021

I don't even know what to say about this it's so disgraceful. WE are virus, a plague on this planet. I almost feel ashamed to be a part of the species that will be responsible for the end of life as we know it.

  • S. Garr. on October 2, 2021

WHY would someone make a video like this! You can't just sit and watch it, you have to stand and turn with the phone! Nonsense.

  • Daisy M on October 19, 2021

What do you think we’ve done to landfills down the street or the rivers, streams and oceans. Welcome to a consumer driven world!

  • Chris on October 21, 2021

This is the price the country has to pay to survive. It’s a necessary evil byproduct of tourism in a place uninhabitable by all but the locals. You can blame ‘us’ as much as you like but this is the reality of those who don’t have options.

If people came to the UK to ride a famous MTB trail and the owners dumped the waste like this, you’d blame the owners. If westerners go abroad and the locals dump the waste it’s our fault again. It’s easy to say you shouldn’t do this from your warm, lit house.

It might have been informative if I understood Sherpa, or if the translation was legible. I resorted to closed captions. You really should try it!! The captions are insane. I think they didn't go off the written translation (if that's what it was; nobody could read it!!) and basically rendered Sherpa words into English transliterations, ending up with ridiculous garbage.

Unfortunately, because I have yet to learn Sherpa, this program was a complete waste of my time. Please check out the closed captions. It's a miracle this video wasn't banned for breaching yt terms of service. You'll understand when you check this out.

  • scottpop11 on October 27, 2021

that's just so wrong, we dump rubbish anywhere we are dirty

  • Peace Weapon on November 2, 2021

Start charging everyone who want's to go up a few grand in waste fees. Less people will go up, and less trash

  • Lew Wallace on November 26, 2021

So sad, they should close the mountain if the climbers cant control their trash problem!

  • Nancy Drew on November 27, 2021

    Humans can be so despicable!!!

  • Flèche Bleue on December 26, 2021

Une belle saloperie que tout cela, plus facile de jetter ses crasses que de les redescendre.

  • Teresa Ferrer on December 26, 2021

Show respect! Take your trash with you.

  • Dustbowl Hammer on December 26, 2021

Decades of trash from rich affluent adventurers, Turning Mt Everest into a huge dump. Not worth dying for.

  • MUDSWAT on January 9, 2022

Looks like they're burning it. Burning massive piles of plastics and rubbers on the highest mountain in the world? Does not seem like a good idea for the atmosphere…!!
