NO PEAS! PEAS ARE THE WORK OF THE DEVIL! PEAS ARE WORSE THAN PHARMACEUTICAL ADVERTS, PUPPY KILLING, AND EVIL POLITICAL REGIMES BY ORANGE TROLLS COMBINED!

Oh man, you used sage, rosemary and thyme and you didn't use parsley? You didn't even make a joke about not using it? I can't believe you let that opportunity slip, it's almost as if you didn't add the accumulated juices.

  • wright gregson on March 26, 2020

how about using clarified butter instead of vegetable oil?

  • clockworkhearts on May 22, 2020

Also, make sure to use dry cider for this. Don't under any circumstances use Kopparberg or Rekorderlig.

Ok, I've got everything I need. RATS! Except for the Apple Cider. Just kidding, I did have apples so added one with veg and one at the end and had it with mashed. Thanks, Chef John.

I made this for my husband and I and it became an instant favourite. We served it over some polenta which was the perfect vessel for the stew. It’s quite rich so we will save it for special occasions but it’s definitely a winner!

  • David Hartding on January 14, 2022

It's even better if you use Lard instead of Oil!
