CRS-17 Mission ctm magazine

SpaceX is targeting Saturday, May 4 for an instantaneous launch of its seventeenth Commercial Resupply Services mission (CRS-17) at 2:48 a.m. EDT, or 6:48 UTC, from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida. Dragon will separate from Falcon 9’s second stage about 9 minutes after liftoff and attach to the space station on Monday, May 6.

The Dragon spacecraft that will support the CRS-17 mission previously supported the CRS-12 mission in August 2017. Following stage separation, SpaceX will attempt to recover Falcon 9’s first stage on the Of Course I Still Love You droneship, stationed in the Atlantic Ocean.

    24:06 How many laps has Falcon 9 given around the Earth on this release? Can anyone help?

  • gcn97 on May 30, 2019

    How did Dragon hit the orbit in 9 minutes with this speed? One lap in the earth of 40,000 km + 200 km of altitude?

    27,000 km / 60 minutes <==> 450 km / 1 minute <==> 4,050 km / 9 minutes. Can someone explain?

    Dear Elon Musk I know you won’t hear this but this question that I am about to ask has been bothering me for a while now so why did you choose to colonize Mars and terraform it but not colonize the moon and make a profit out of it. As we know mars is a waste land and giant desert with no little resources,but the moon on the other hand is might be a little more dangerous then mars but has a huge deposit of helium 3 and helium 3 can power humanity for hundreds of thousands of years and the moon could have more platinum and other important energy sources .Mars has little to no resource and the only thing it’s good for for its terraforming it so please wouldn’t the strategy of colonizing the moon and getting its resources make your company earn more and possibly make Mars’s terraforming effort faster. In conclusion I hope you see this Elon and with my dearest intentions I hope Spacex the best

    Sincerely Amiin Mohammed

    This guy is spending so much of time and effort just to start a civilization in Mars! Mars is not a place for humans what's the point in living their?? Even if humans start to live their, how would they sustain themselves for the long run! Sustaining human lives in Mars would mean launching hundreds and hundreds of rockets to Mars in periodic intervals for as long as humans are staying their! Won't the pollution from rocket make earth more and more terrible place to live? And won't the continual exploitation of natural resources from earth just to cause a propulsion in space, deplete earth of its precious natural resources! I think the whole idea behind the civilisation of Mars is business! For only rich would go their, leaving all the poor on earth to suffer even more, as the earth itself would be getting poorer and poorer! Hell awaits u all!!! The best way to reach Mars is to have a really good damn dream about u doing doggy style in Mars!

    Elon Reeve Musk é um empreendedor, filantropo e visionário sul-africano-canadense-americano. Ele é o fundador, CEO e CTO da SpaceX; CEO da Tesla Motors; vice-presidente da OpenAI; fundador e CEO da Neuralink; e co-fundador e presidente da SolarCity. Este homem será o responsável por salvar milhares de pessoas. A Nasa vem a anos estudando pra explorar um planeta e chega Elon Reeve Musk em pouco tempo já conseguiu reaproveitar  seus foguetes de lançamentos. Fazendo com isso a viabilidade de exploração deixar de ser um sonho e tornar realidade. Hoje estou aqui escrevendo a minha opinião sobre esta  realidade. Elon Reeve Musk você vai passar por várias  barreiras, mas nenhuma delas serão o suficiente para que façam desistir dos outros planetas. No universo existe sim vida além de nós. Podem ser iguais ou diferente de nós, mas isso não importa o objetivo e migrar para outro planeta porque o nosso aos poucos esta se modificando com os passar dos anos. Não podemos dormir e esperar que tudo sempre continue como esta a cada dia que passa modificações acontecem. Precisamos buscar outro caminho além das estrelas. Neste imenso universo existe sim vida igual a nossa sim! Apesar de que algumas pessoas defendam que isso é impossível. Você Elon Reeve Musk acredita que existe vida em outros planetas? Então acompanho sempre seus passos sou super fã admiro sua coragem em perder seu tempo precioso em busca de uma solução para humanidade. Quero lhe agradecer e lhe dizer que você vai encontrar o que procura em breve neste universo imenso. A humanidade só tem a lhe agradecer por nos ajudar. Talvez eu e você Elon Reeve Musk não estaremos aqui pra ver a conquista espacial no futuro. Mas estaremos na história eu Luiz Paulek por escrever esta carta a você Elon Reeve Musk por conquistar o espaço e salvar a espécie humana. Bom meu amigo Elon desejo todo sucesso do mundo a você e nunca desista vá em frente. Precisamos de você lembra disso. O primeiro passo você, já deu o segundo será pousar em Marte com seres humanos a bordo de uma nave que você vai construir. Marte é só o começo da exploração espacial de longa distância. Lembre de mim quando for lançar as pessoas rumo a Marte. Que Deus te abençoe em sua jornada espacial. Que a humanidade sempre lembre de você como o responsável por salvar a raça humana. Lembra desta frase "AVENTUREIRO PAULEK" no lançamento da Starship. Obrigado Elon Reeve Musk e muito sucesso com a Spacex!

    To all rocket fans. I have made a Google Doc about this launch. It's a kind of Prelaunch Preview, that Tim Dodd and his Paetron friends makes about upcoming launches. There isn't a page about this launch, so I made one, and besides a lot of the old pages went missing from Dragon II in -flight abort test, there is only 28 SpaceX prelaunch pages left with direct access from Tim Dodd's homepage.
    I call mine Mission Rundown.

    Here is a link to DM-1 rebuilt Prelaunch Preview. Here's your Mission Rundown from me, Tim Dodd, SpaceX and Wikipedia. Enjoy.

    This is the best view I've seen of a droneship landing so far, and the best view of a landing I've seen other than the Falcon Heavy test with the simultaneous landings on dry land.
