I never made a careful decision. Didn't know what I truly wanted. I never considered every possible consequence. So I wound up at fifty five wondering what the hell happened
I LOVED IT
Why is it such an anomaly to actually live your true heart life
I really enjoyed this movie. I don't understand its poor critical reception. Adrian Sparks was quite good as Hemingway. Not really in shape to battle the mighty marlin standing up, as Hemingway did, but seeing him guide Pilar into Havana harbor, standing on the flying bridge, I can see why the people of Havana did a mass double-take. It sure as hell looked like him. The Finca looked wonderful. They did a great job of restoring it. It must have felt insane shooting the movie in the actual place. and that beautiful swimming pool, my god. Oh, and Minka Kelly is one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen. Anyway, I just don't get the poor reviews. 8% critics on Rotten Tomatoes? How is that possible?
I MET HEMINGWAY THE YEAR BEFORE HIS SUICIDE, IN KEY WEST ON THE BEACH, HE WAS VERY HANDSOME BUT SEEMED A VERY LONELY MAN. WE MET ON THE PIER AND WE TALKED ABOUT EVERYTHING BUT HIS WRITING. HE WAS A PERFECT GENTLEMAN AND BECAUSE I WAS SO YOUNG HE LOOKED LIKE I WISH HAD HAD A GRANDFATHER LIKE HIM, I NEVER MET EITHER OF MINE.
Brilliant ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Hemingway was the most overrated American novelist. Perhaps most overrated of all time. A Nobel Prize? Rediculus! The Nobel Committee lost all credibility with Mandela, Obama, etc. Totally meaningless.
"Hemingway never sold his soul during the Revolution" 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🤝🤝🤝
Great documentary in a movie. Sad story. He was always looking for love and it seems he never found it.
Today writing is so much easier to backspace and erase what you have written….
And then we have that devil of a send button
"When you make a decision, make it carefully.
Know what you truly want.
Consider every possible consequence or you'll wind up at 59 wondering what the hell happened."
~ Ernest Hemingway~
😯 I never knew that about J Edgar Hoover….
Aha!!!
Impressive, pleasing and entertaining. Bravo! (5)
Cute movie, but hemingway as a person, no, no, no. Seeing pictures of him always gave me the creeps a little. Now that I'm watching Ken Burns documentary, my intuition is confirmed. He was one S.O.B. narcissist from hell. Good riddance. He had a good run, but his stories are becoming trite.
The actor in this movie seems to be too old to portrait a 59 year old Hemingway
FimRise Movies, Thank You!!! Great Documentary and Great Acting…… <3
Now we Know more About mental illness …….A Hope for Many People……
Give him the f&*(^%g letter! Romance dead from the start, if I were him.
The Pilar and the crew. The fishing was excellent! Friends. I certainly didn’t expect Marlena Dietrich! As it turns out, Castro was a Communist prick. Who knew? A regular Deblasio.
Good movie. I saw this when it came out in 2015. Of the two, Faulkner was better.
I watched the Burns Documentary.
This movie was very very good it really filled out what was not said on PBS.
I highly recommend this.
Excellent film …thank you so much
Adrian Sparks….a real find.
Very good movie. I guess he was lucky to be alive and comprehend what was happening after all the severe head injuries. Add the alcohol on top of that. He had a unstable childhood right off the bat to send him down a contorted path in life, and it continued with his children.
The typewriters are distracting. Why not use a laptop? They are quieter. Loved the French music.
Les Brown, motivational speaker, had a chance to step in a door and meet his natural parent but declined after having searched I think.
How can I leave you again- John Denver.
Alone Again Naturally- Gilbert O' Sullivan.
Nice film… the Hemingway actor didn’t fit, but the rest were very fine.
This is a excellent movie. I enjoyed it a great deal… wonderful performances from the main characters.
Dang he was only 61 when he died. I'm 62. Such a shame for him.
It's insane to think that this man ended his life by putting a 12-gauge in his mouth and blowing his head off

Great movie .. many true statements
I visited Hemingway's home in Key West a couple of years back. What impressed me was how simple and comfortable it was. And it had cats. I have often wondered if he didn't get his inspiration from talking to strangers in bars, and if his fame finally prevented that.
