They were worried about the damage..? I mean come on it’s obviously destroyed

  • Boog Dennard on August 15, 2021

Anyone know about the other bigger oil leak they spotted when they were looking at how far the Deepwater Horizon leak reached

  • Robert Hodge on August 15, 2021

The incomplete cost of Deepwater Horizon fiasco that is the poster child for abolishing offshore oil and gas pillaging, The "damages" were a mere $65 Billion. No where near the true 100 year cost of harm. You can build 37,000 megawatts of solar that will not force anyone to jump in the ocean for 65 billion. One small step for mankind, stop being stupid! PLease!

  • TZ TZ on August 15, 2021

Thanks for polluting the entire gulf. Dumb as es.

  • Michael Brady on August 16, 2021

The Marine Life killed in one weeks worth of commercial fishing bycatch in the Gulf of Mexico (only) exceeds that of all the marine life killed by the Deepwater Horizon Spill. If you want to save marine life stop commercial fishing, not commercial drilling.

  • Norman Involved on August 17, 2021

Here right after watching Deepwater Horizon. Men like these is who i inspire to be more like.

  • Cheryl Stachowski on August 18, 2021

I remember that rig burned for days !
God bless the men on that rig that survived and God bless the men that perished! I hope that dam oil co. That owned that rig and who those men worked for did all those men right when it was over . Didn’t they finally call Res Adair to put that fire out ?

  • Cheryl Stachowski on August 18, 2021

The company wasted no time with those dam lawyers why wern’t there doctors there waiting to see them and take them directly to the hospital !

  • GalderIncarnate on August 18, 2021

Nat Geo did a great job on this. Thank you!

  • Abe Khadr on August 21, 2021

The tedious israel temporally wave because teeth intriguinly inform abaft a dangerous sponge. nebulous, rural granddaughter

  • John Marko on August 22, 2021

Documentaries about this before Trump used to have text at the end shaming big oil. Now in 2021? It’s Trump. Class act National Geographic. Basically hoping that if you’re coming here to learn about what happened in that event, we want to make sure you get emotional about it, then walk away blaming him.

  • Kenneth Smith on August 23, 2021

    Always blaming it on Trump

  • Peery Brown on August 23, 2021

    Ads are getting ridiculous

  • Conceded war on August 23, 2021

this documentary was great till they decided to politicize it at the very end and ruin a respectful and informative documentary.

  • Merchant Ivory on August 24, 2021

So sad no lessons were learned here. Those pour souls died for nothing. All those "new regulations" were eroded away.

  • H B on August 25, 2021

What kind of money the low men on totem pole make on a rig in the ocean ?

  • Eric Aasen on August 29, 2021

BP is the most reckless irresponsible corporation we've seen on this planet, just goes to show with enough money you can destroy as much of the planet and take as many lives as you want and continue to business time ad time and time again

  • Niklas Enblom on September 7, 2021

May the victims of the Deepwater Horizon and those of the humongous oil spill that resulted RIP. Thoughts and prayers to the survivors and their families as well. ❤️❤️

  • Cris on September 15, 2021

    BP goofballs

  • Spitfire Last on September 22, 2021

Stop blaming bp alone instead blame transocean and bp for letting this to happen.

  • Night Time on September 30, 2021

37:48 those are pretty interesting images

  • Guido Dodo on October 4, 2021

    Poor marine life.

  • Tyler Hensley on October 4, 2021

17:19 🤯🤯 very few people can truly understand what that picture represents.

  • TacoBag Charlie on October 5, 2021

Can you imagine being in such a horrible situation that at one point you seriously think your dead

  • What's UP on October 8, 2021

at 18:59, it showed the infrastructure building flaw. A flat without any other side door and movable window to escape in this case.

And why LA to rescue that BP rig about 66km away from Lousiana instead of either TX or MI state to have a prompt emergency call to rescue.

Pretty frightening if the flame occurred on this wing.

  • Chris M. on October 11, 2021

43:26 Im not surprised at all, That side only cares about money, and more money. Never safety, And they never care about regulations for the same environment that provide the same luxuries they make the money from.

  • david potash on October 13, 2021

Every person speaking in this video is a hero and a miracle.

  • D S on October 17, 2021

make America tragic again Trump!! all about the $$$ !!!

  • Asia Ashai on October 19, 2021

These some brave people because once the ship had blown up, I would’ve been trying to jump and abandoned ship😩 These people was trying to fix the engines and stuff. I would’ve been gone😭
    Rip to the fallen ones🙏🏾

  • Montana Snowman on October 28, 2021

The engines over revved because they were ingesting well gas in the air through the intake.

  • Knockmydoh on November 12, 2021

Mike Williams gave a firsthand account on 60 Minutes that makes this look like a cartoon. If this event is interesting to you then go watch it. It's the most gripping story I've ever heard in my entire life.

  • Caldera Records on November 19, 2021

We should have stopped sucking these corpses from under the ocean YEARS ago. Let the dead rest. And lets never ask people to die in this horrible & tragic way ever again just to heat our houses. Humanity has a lot of catching up to do.

  • Trae Maxwell on November 23, 2021

I live near Mobile, AL. Many survivors were brought to USA Medical and Mobile Infirmary to be treated for burns. For months we would smell crude oil as we drove across Mobile Bay. I even helped with the clean up.

  • P on November 27, 2021

So at 43:25 the globalist commies at National Geographic (long ago sell-outs to globalism/communism) ruin an excellent documentary with a political hit on Trump. That's was the last Nat Geo item I will ever watch.

  • telly briggs on December 5, 2021

  • David Young on December 11, 2021

Wow, I thought National Geographic was suppose to be non-biased politically. Obviously I was wrong.

  • Teagan Anderson on December 20, 2021

Shoutout to the Trump administration for being trash as always and blocking good regulations

  • DRUNKDONKEY100 on December 21, 2021

If we could find a way to drill the oil under African countries and African seas, then we wouldn’t have to worry if an accident happens

  • Shawky Elsayed on December 21, 2021

    He measured the preesure wrong

  • Politicriminalwatch of Adam Coleman on December 21, 2021

May the men who were lost receive justice and peace!
Interesting that nobody mentions Halliburton being on the rig and exactly what they were doing there and why they were able to jettison the rig just minutes before the blowout.
BP and Halliburton are a deadly, greedy mix and neither have even a semblance of a good safety record but the do have judgements and eight figure fines they've allegedly paid for their treachery.
    BP=Safety LAST!
Dig deep enough and you'll discover that this 4/20 "accident" was no accident at all

  • Md Rakibul Islam on December 23, 2021
