This was the absolute worst interview EVER. What can you do to help this man?? Give him back 43 years and you can't do that. The man is still in jail, ever day it is like waking up to a new world for him and not in a good way. Your questions were inane, hurtful, disrespectful , but you got your ratings, right?

  • Wayne Rivett on December 9, 2021

disgraceful that the state won't compensate him for this.

  • true liberal on December 9, 2021

Joy Reid is a racist and should not be on TV.
MSNBC should be ashamed of themselves.

  • Donald Adams on December 9, 2021

No compensation for wasteful 43 year?

  • D Floyd on December 9, 2021

Yet no systemic racism in this Republic.
The Caste System at work in this Republic

  • maarifa walcott on December 9, 2021

My God, how very sad and infuriating. This man spent his entire life — his youth — wasting away behind bars for a crime that he never committed. This is the height of injustice. I pray that the he experiences the remainder of his life like paradise on Earth.

  • Zebra Talk on December 9, 2021

I would love to see his attorneys continue to sue the state and everyone involved in this injustice. It is just too easy to do this to innocent people.

  • Earvetta on December 9, 2021

Mr. Strickland sending prayers. Now pay him for all the years he was behind bars. There's no telling how many men women are behind bars who are not guilty because of people like in this case.

  • Earvetta on December 9, 2021

Why didn't the state pay him, he should be able to sue the people who lied

  • Artificial on December 9, 2021

Theres no words for how awful this is

  • Laynie on December 9, 2021

This guy was majorly screwed by the criminal justice system. He deserves lots of reimbursement so he csn live life in easy mode. Thst is unlike MSNBC who wants to subvert justice via juror intimidation by hiring a freelancer to tail the Rittenhouse jurors.

  • marmac on December 9, 2021

Only Mumia and Leonard Peltier have served near this long! and those are BOTH Political Prisoners!!

  • marmac on December 9, 2021

I am so terribly sorry for what this vicious racist system did to you, Mr. Strickland! And that you still feel like you are in Prison, is just unreal! This system is so racist, they won't even lift a finger to give you any assistance, even now! I sure hope you get that country home! I donated to your GoFundMe page, is that still open? Could you use more?? What else can we do? well, short of a rvltn ….

  • Dad Caylor on December 9, 2021

The Question is, who murdered these 3 folks? The cops try to look good in the public eye. Not no more. We the people are wise to this now. BLM

  • Hildre Carter on December 9, 2021

This is Missouri Republicans at Showing how they feel for blacks in the State!

  • Lord Geotron on December 9, 2021

Congratulations on being released from prison

  • flipflopsneeded on December 9, 2021

So, what Missouri law tells me. We can put anyone in jail no matter our wrong doing as long as we want. If he’s innocent we put you through the process and here’s some coupons for a McDonalds breakfast.

  • Dave Lattimer on December 9, 2021

This country is terrible. What this country did to this man is terrible. Its purely evil, and its hard to stomach.

  • FOSS Joseph on December 9, 2021

I've been found responsible twice in a court of law for things I had absolutely no part in or even knowledge of. It is a helpless feeling, granted mine was small potatoes stuff but my name went in paper twice as guilty. Sucks.

  • oil_kingg on December 9, 2021

This has been going on since reconstruction, but Joy Ried doesn't understand why we deserve reparations!

  • juanita camacho on December 9, 2021

I can't even imagine the adjustments this poor man is facing. I wish him the best. May he find inner peace, love, and tranquility. But after years of being watched, ordered around, and surrounded by who knows what, it will take a lot to de-institutionalize bavk to this world.

  • Máire Walton on December 9, 2021

    Shocking….and shameful.

  • Máire Walton on December 9, 2021

    Racism is palpable.

  • Just Trust on December 9, 2021

    A wicked system!

  • obtuse on December 9, 2021

When people facilitate the wrongful imprisonment of an innocent person, why are THEY not charged and imprisoned themselves. This includes any members of the judiciary who behaved in an unprofessional way.

  • Mrtube on December 9, 2021

Serving 40years in prison for something you didn’t do should open up other racist cases who are wrongly convicted to be set free

  • Warrin Bang on December 9, 2021

Bias juries, corrupt judges, unethical DA's, the overuse of plea bargains and no contest pleas deny justice and make wrongful convictions the judicial norm.

  • Es Momo on December 9, 2021

My father was a corrections officer at Atlanta Federal Penitentiary for 22 years. For some reason he told me a number of times that there are in fact a lot of innocent people in prison.

  • Schawnetta Robinson on December 10, 2021

    This is unbelievable.

  • Brooklynn Graves on December 11, 2021

Mr. Strickland is one of the many wrongfully convicted African American men and women who have been egregiously abused by our so called system of “justice”.
If the GOP really wants to make America great again, I suggest that they start here!

I love that Reid asked how we could support him!

  • FACTS15 on December 19, 2021

Can State of Missouri be sued for the injustice? The State violated his 4th, 5th, 8th, 14th, etc. Constitutional Rights. Lord have Mercy. May God Bless the rest of ur days🙏
