That's like the Mexican dish "morisceta" just that the meat and the beans are covering the rice and they eat it with lettuce or cabbage and chips

Very nice! Pressure cookers are great! Remember, you are the Captain Hooker of your pressure cooker! Sorry Chef John. I know, that's weak.

  • Carl Stawicki on May 18, 2018

I started using a pressure cooker when competing in chili cook-offs where I have a time constraint. I can get the meat done perfectly in a small amount of time and then just keep the chili warm for the rest of the time.

still prefer to cook on stove and oven… chicken in pressure cooker tastes like crap.. really u feel like u wanna puke on the table… when u make vege soup all the vegetables are all soft, no texture.. pressure cooker's ok for congee, rendang, meat in gravy.. when u make steak u have to transfer to oven or else your steak is just soft.. its troublesome, time consuming…

Pressure cookers ARE NOT FASTER!   The steam has to built, that takes time. Then there's cooking time and last, cooling time.  In all about as long as standard time when preparing most meals.

  • Locutus on January 13, 2019

I never see appetizing stew come from a pressure cooker. I prefer 3 or 4 hours in the stove or 8-9 hours in slow cooker on low. Much more appealing and tastier.

Food wish bucket list…to learn more ways to use my stove top pressure cooker. With the exception of a small arsenal of recipes from the cook booklet Im never sure how long to cook foods. 🙅‍♀️

It's smarter for you to brown your beef right in the pressure cooker. so you have all the fond.

I make chili the traditional way, with chunks of beef. I dont like the texture of ground meat in chili. Besides, if you use big chunks of beef, the longer it simmers, the more tender the meat gets, depending on what cut of beef you use.

  • Sherrie Heim on October 25, 2021

I was thinking I'd use my old school crockpot for this recipe

  • Kryptnyt on November 7, 2021
