    Please don't be insulting about cheap sources of foods that are very expensive. Most people, myself included, can't afford $20+ per pound for the best salmon. . . especially when YOU usually use CANNED salmon. The recipe sounds great, though.

    Nothing beats the flavor, the simplicity and the frugality of salmon cakes. My sister in law substituted stuffed green olives for the capers for a different but equally pleasing taste.

    As much as I love salmon patties, I just couldn't bring myself to take such a beautiful piece of fish and mush it up into salmon patties. Sorry.
    But next time I have some stale bread to use up and a can of salmon I will give them a go!

    Very nice. There is an easier way to get the skin off, though, and with less "loss". You put the fillet skin up, pick one corner with a knife and just pull it off with your hand. Comes off almost like a stocking. Also, one can bake those patties.

    My method is to poach fresh salmon until rare, cool it and then flake it. Easier than all the chop chop. I also use an egg to help hold it together.

    For myself and family I see green onions or spring onions. A shot of soy sauce and the tiniest bit of Worcestershire sauce. Added to the basics. 😁 And a dip of real mayonnaise mixed with Maepoy sauce. Mmm good stuff ‼️

    Fell apart the moment they went in the pan. These aren't salmon patties. It's crumbled cat food and a waste of expensive ingredients
