Gordon Ramsay Cooks a Squash Curry in India | Ramsay Around the World ctm magazine



A few months back Gordon was in Kerala region of India and decided to cook up one of his favorite dishes…..curry. Cooked over a grill on one of the hottest days of the year, Gordon (and crew) battled the heat to make a curry that is now one of Gordon’s favorite dishes he’s made for YouTube!

    Nice tips with the pumpkin/squash (take a slice off the bottom to stand it upright) …
    BTW, in Australia we call acorn squash, "Kent pumpkin" — a great multi-purpose pumpkin!

    This is the pro way. The lazy way of doing this was I grilled the squash and put it into the gravy. Tastes good!

    Can't match his knife skills eva but sad he didn't cook kumror chokka. If he's cooking that squash this is one of the greatest dishes ever.

    But always glad to see foreign chefs doing indian cuisine.

    P.S. That grilling seemed a bit odd. Is that a part of kerelite cuisine? Not really well versed in that region's cuisine but I haven't seen Indians grilling as a part of pre production too often.

    Gordon you're using the SAME knife I use I think!! Its a Solingen blade with an olive wood handle, right?? I bought mine for 93 fkn euros as a PhD student in Tübingen in Germany years ago! It still serves me to this day and I would never trade it for any other knife! Its literally my favourite thing in my flat.

    This recipe the environment damn Gordan. Safe to say I also have a love for the western world (India) and its culture. This recipe touched my heart. Thanks for this, I survived a slight concussion (major head injury) a while ago since then I've been cooking! Doing well getting back into the swing of life.     Noticed how he removed the 3 red chilli peppers from the curry in the end. Those impart flavor at the time of cooking and are usually not eaten. Such attention to detail!. Love it!
