    Butter basting is the play. I had some thyme laying around and man, simple salt pepper pan sear with butter and it ended up as one of the best things I've ever cooked

    In germany I have never been served sliced steak. Why would you ever do that? I can slice it on my plate just fine, and doesn't it stay warmer way longer that way?
