Very delicious!! 😋
I'm surprised you didn't use any vanilla beans
I like the shell-to-shell method. I think it’s kind of fun!!
Jesus Christ. He’s telling me this like he’s explaining why what I did was wrong.
😋😋😋😋😋
Not only does this man give us lessons on how to make eggnog but dad jokes
I love all the Food Wishes recipes but this one is probably my favorite! Thanks Chef John
This is the best eggnog recipe ever.
jack Daniels Tennessee honey work well with this???
I didn't think Chef John could make me snort/laugh anymore until I got to, "You are the Kermit the Frog…" Nicely done, sir!
No whiskey-bingo! 🙂
U kinda sound like kermit
Can I substitute Splenda or another artificial sweetener to eliminate the sugar for a diabetic friendly Eggnog drink? If so, what would be the proportions?
Have a merry and joyful Christmas! Thank you for all your wonderful recipes.
It’s very recommended to be hygienic when preparing food and beverages. “Oils on you skin” has no place in food others eat.
That was barely any booze next recipe
How long will this last in the fridge? I live alone, so if I make this I’ll have some left over. Even if I cut it in half I’ll have some left over.
So what did they do years ago without a thermometers? I don't have one.
I love your recipes, but I'm not cooking egg nog. Sorry. Not gonna happen.
Good recipe, I like to also add a few whole cloves to the milk/egg mixture while cooking and fish them out later, and after cooking before you chill it put some scraped vanilla bean pulp in, some people add vanilla extract but I think the pulp tastes better.
Excellent. Now I need to grab that recipe.
How many naughas gave their lives to make those placemats?
I prefer Brandy! Especially good Brandy, like the E&J Extra Smooth. I’ve also tried Bailey’s, Frangelico and Kahlua. All were good and added a different flavor profile.
Sooo, isn't raw egg bad?
My favorite Chef-instructor. Another great demonstration. I will be making this recipe Christmas Eve. We have a lot of young children that will be present, so I want to make non alcoholic version. I know I substitute with vanilla extract, but how much?
I always shake my eggnog before pouring it.
Made this last year. It was so incredibly delicious. I was so sad when it was all gone. I had to look it up again this year.
I am just now realizing I am not entirely sure what stopped me from cooking it any other time of the year. 🤭This is just so good!
The bumpy tone of the voiceover is funny.
How about instead of bourbon, Baileys Irish Cream?
I don't like booze but I want to add some THC to some eggnog. That's right up my alley.
I’m not comfortable with eating raw eggs but I’ll try this once in life.
how long does this nog last in the fridge?
Lol good laugh thanks to your video
Is it ok to leave out the egg whites??
Seems like it would be too eggy. I prefer store bought or eggless eggnog its more nostalgic to me.
After years of raw eggnog, I'm a convert. I made a double batch of eggnog using Chef John's recipe, unadulterated. We sampled it this evening (Christmas Eve). It is delicious. It'll be a hit, tomorrow. I used Evan Williams' Single Barrel bourbon, five ounces to the two batches. Merry Christmas, y'all.
Just because YOU'RE an alcohloic doesn't mean you have to push alcohol on us.
I made this yesterday and it is absolutely delicious! I followed the recipe word for word. At first it tasted way too sweet. I was going to throw it all out. But wait! You have to mix in the egg whites and refrigerate as the video says. The egg whites balance out the sugar sweetness. I also added 6 TBS of bourbon which also balances out the sweetness. The resulting taste is spot on.
add cayenne pepper for a little kick
I’m going to try this.
Ew yuck. Didn’t realize it was basically raw eggs.
Just make this and it was a hit! I personally used salted caramel bird dog whiskey in it. I found it made the flavor so layered and amazing! 10/10 must try. I’ve never had eggnog before.
