    A beneficial tip: If you're using an electric hand mixer, place the mixing bowl and blades in the freezer for 10-15 minutes. This will ensure that the heavy cream won't melt into a slushy mess from the heat of the rotating blades. As Chef John said, make sure the heavy cream is cold. Happy cooking everyone! ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜Š

    Hi!! It's Sunday 4/19/2020 during the stay-at-home covid 19 pandemic. (that was only for memory in the future) Well I made a banana cream rum cake with all the things I have here at home.
    Wait! I'm only missing cool whip…what to do?!?!?

    I also made homemade "french vanilla"coffee creamer from with all three of the same ingredients for the first time this morning b4 even seeing this video. I just got creative and it was delish. BUT I did not whip it. I just poured heavy whipping cream in my coffee, a tbl soon of vanilla (use how much you like), and of course the sugar and it taste just like it…to me.
    I am now going to make sumtin like Bailey's Irish Creme to use for my coffee. It saves for 2 months in a sealed bottle in the fridge. It won't last that long but it's an option. get creative ppl.

    If you need it to be stiffer add cream of tartar and flavorless gelatin. Texture same as cool whip!

    This isn't a substitute for whipped topping. Whipped topping has a stabilizer in it; that's why it works so well as an ingredient in pies, etc. You can't simply substitute whipped cream in every recipe, as it deflates and "melts" quite easily. You have to add a stabilizer like gelatin or agar. But if you just want to top your ice cream or fruit, homemade whipped cream is the bomb.
