I've read that plan b and Mirena actually work just like the pill. Mirena has a physical barrier in addition to the hormonal. It just works better because you don't have to think about it. I strongly doubt any of the things that are alluded to in this video would come to light outside of any state except for possibly Texas. And the primary reason for that is that the pro-life movement in most States is strongly fuelled born-again / Evangelical Christians. And the very true fact is regardless of what certain sources may tell you is Protestants are very Pro birth control. Being pro birth control does not conflict with being pro-life in the opinion of the greater Protestant community. If you are of the belief that life begins at contraception well then contraceptives avoid that occurrence don't they. I think this misconception comes strongest because Catholics are against contraception. people seem to not understand how different Christians and Catholics really are to the point where they don't even have the same Bibles meaning they're completely different with a different number of books and everything. The difference between Christians and Catholics seems to be somewhat of a taboo in society to speak about so I'll avoid getting too deep into that which also takes us off topic. The only politician to my knowledge to ever hold and anti-contraception viewpoint in modern politics is Catholic presidential candidate from Pennsylvania Rick Santorum.

So being this video strongly focuses on why are these Republican candidates dodging answering this question. I will provide you with some possibly inside information on why.
For republicans to get strong support within the pro-life movement especially in states that are primarily Democrat the backing of the Holy Sea and it's Pope are a crucial resource. being that Protestant Christianity and Catholicism has been at odds for centuries in a Perpetual Cold War( for those that don't know the word Protestant means to be in protest of the existence of the Pope and his legitimacy)
making any direct statement that would alienate the smooth and friendly dispersion of support from the vatican on this issue could be the one misstep that could make the whole issue Fall Apart. If tensions rise between Christians and Catholics judging by Catholics previous actions in the past they would rather get what they don't want as a result, then look less powerful then anyone else that they're mad at. The papacy is much less concerned with practicing what It preaches or " getting what it wants" is then it is exerting its power against anything that challenges it. politics with the Vatican is very similar to doing politics in China in that respect. Even if they know things aren't going to go their way long as they can hold their head high and act like they're leading they will go along. but the moment somebody says even the slightest thing to make it look like they're not in control even if they didn't think it would create a offense they will do a 180 even if it means a complete loss for them because they rather lose on their terms. In other words they are only willing to compromise if the illusion that they're compromise is that of a Grace or gift and not a sign of not being the sole Authority in the decision to compromise. Even if they're well aware it's not true it's the illusion that matters
If a republican candidate said" of course we would never remove birth control or contraceptives there a positive element of society and the right way responsibly handle the issue of unwanted pregnancy" the Vatican would immediately use every Power that it could to keep Roe versus Wade in place because they'd rather lose completely then lose a little if they get to say they were the authority on the outcome

If someone kicked a 6 month pregnant women in the stomach and the "clump of cells" become terminated that person would be charged with murder not just an assault of a woman and her clump of cells. so the laws considers the clump of cells to be a human, so why is the law not applied when the woman herself also terminates the clump of cells herself?
