When the US companies tries to destroy their own countries best companies then no wonder how much lies they spread around the world with other countries. Such a bizarre hypocrite US citizens🤦🏻‍♂️

  • LINNOVATE on January 17, 2022

Greenhills sounds so similar to Greensill. Another apparent world leader billionaire that added up to nothing. Literally.
    LMAO
    History continually repeating.
Innovation can never be beaten, only surpassed. Musk is still flying by everyone in the fast lane.

  • Tyler Lever on January 17, 2022

I just want to know what exactly is he trying to ban? My Subaru drives itself everywhere my Tesla does. The only difference, my Tesla stops at signs/lights and it'll navigate. Is that what he wants to ban, navigation and following traffic laws?

We live in a world where decency and respect don't exists. People simply cannot bring themselves to thank and accept anyone that does good. If you can't do better then just stay quiet. Criticism without providing a solution doesn't help anyone.

Trump took out a full page ad in 1987s criticizing foreign policy and another calling for the death penalty for four kids that turned out to be wrongly accused. He got to be president. Who hacks embedded software that is not connected to anything. It would be like hacking my tea kettle that turns on and remembers the temperature I last set it to.

Thats why comparative advertising is banned in many countries

  • Leslie Weir on January 17, 2022

    Go get em Dave!

  • Luka Ljubljana on January 17, 2022

Dave nailed it big time hah

  • Sun on January 17, 2022

This just proves that tesla are on the right track!

    “Truth is the first causality.”

Tesla build all its OS need in house starting from a Linux foundation. This is include compilers, debugger and many other tools. That exactly what green hill market and sell. Once this is realized you could see immediately why they see Tesla as dangerous trend frightening their core business premise.

In situations like this I always feel sorry for the workers who work under idiots like this. That $100k could have been put to better use else where. It's hard to watch traditional auto makers and their suppliers self destruct right in front of our eyes instead of competing fair and square.

  • StevenRN66 on January 17, 2022

My thoughts having done lots of development on both Green Hills and Linux (from device drivers to BSBs and lots of other low-level work).

Green Hills is a more solid product. Period. There is little room for discussion on this. Dan was out of line on the ad (it truly is bad taste) and Musk is mistaken on the quality of Green Hills when compared to Linux.

That said, Linux has its advantages in having much better tool sets and tons of third party experts when issues (which is many non Linux) crop up. I find Green Hills much more robust when it comes to true real time when Linux is, at best,… Well a best effort.

  • Paul O'Connell on January 17, 2022

    Right on. Thanks.

  • MSIContent on January 17, 2022

GreenHill can clearly see the writing on the wall. This feels like a last ditch BS attempt to blow up Tesla with complete lies. Not only will it fail (already has) but it shows their hand. They’re scared.

  • David Jaap on January 17, 2022

I Imagine, Green Hills auto customers have been wearing them out about wanting software like Tesla’s — they’re probably sick of hearing it! Green Hills can’t compete so they run a smear campaign, which will be an epic fail.

  • Stephen Stapler on January 17, 2022

Old man writes in a paper then tries to clap back “I am a billionaire” I’m surprised Elon s didn’t said “oh that’s cute a billionaire not a multi billionaire” MEME Lord Musk can’t be stopped and I love it. Let ELON ELON

  • Johannes Dolch on January 17, 2022

The Problem is that whether Legacy Carmakers may or may not be able to compete on electric vehicles, they (and their software supliers) don't have a snowballs chance in hell to beat Tesla at FSD. Wait for the regulatory approval processes to get started. Then the real dirt fight begins when Legacy Car Makers try everything they can to get FSD banned for good. Because once FSD comes out for everybody and they don't have anything even remotely comparable, they are done. Just done. Nobody will buy a car without FSD once it goes live. It's gonna be Nokia vs Apple reloaded.

  • JASE THE ACE on January 17, 2022

GREEN HILL is a dishonest player and not too smart as they just made a rod for the own back. "Pile of Trash" will always be associated with the Green Hill Brand.

  • Patrick Fung on January 17, 2022

If they're as good as they said they are, work with Tesla instead of against! What's their solution?

  • JK on January 17, 2022

You can buy silent campains to get people in a direction of thinking.
    Example:
It would be stupid to Build the most expensiv most dangerus Powerplants or? But still a lot Atomenergy Powerplans under construction…

  • Patricia Hokenson on January 17, 2022

Nailed it again, OEMs are now in trouble. They will probably go down together.

  • Steven VanHeyningen on January 17, 2022

I think your analysis is correct and
the NY TIMES, certainly isn't an honest source journalism. So you
    have disingenuous businessman
running an "hit piece", in a Democrat
    supporting, dishonest newspaper.
Welcome to 2022, which is starting
out with a continuation of the Woke,
    non-sensical Culture, looking to
    cancel and censore, their targets,
    like Elon Musk.

  • heikwan on January 17, 2022

Well said: is it too much to ask, for humans to display some basic decency?

  • JASE THE ACE on January 17, 2022

Picking a a fight with Elon will be soon be known as a synonym for Obliteration. RIP Green Hill.

  • Robert MacCready on January 17, 2022

The NYT's has lost any credibility they might have had, in just the past few years. This is just one more example of how irrelevant they have become. And that software blowhard wants to trash Elon? Kinda like bringing a dull knife to a gun fight.

  • Mr. Sivilla on January 17, 2022

Wow! A full page ad. O'Coward must be really afraid of Tesla.

  • deming xiao on January 17, 2022

who still read new york times? what a petty the loser has to resort such a dirty trick.

  • Phojana Chirangworaphoj on January 17, 2022

When competitors can't flight in the fields. Use stupid campaign to flight.

  • Terry Shaw on January 17, 2022

I don't know… Yesterday you had no clue who this clown was or what company he started… Today you have him blowing up Google and Social Media… Some might think he's getting exactly what he paid for???

  • Al Smith on January 17, 2022

Don't just gloss over the fact he brags about writing the software for the F-35 and Boeing 787, two absolute software disasters.
