If I even need to win any serious PR battles in my time, I'm hiring Kellyanne. You can search the world over and you're unlikely to find anyone more cunning, ruthless, reptilian, and – unfortunately – good at what they're paid to do than Kellyanne. Only now that her husband's relevance is beginning to eclipse her own are you starting to see that an actual human lives in there. Very disappointing not to see Michael follow up and press Kellyanne on his "do you blame Donald Trump for any of that?" question after she, as always, didn't give a direct answer. A journalist is supposed to press the interviewee when they completely go around the question that was asked. Unfortunately, Michael basically just let Kellyanne promote her book and say whatever she wanted. Certainly not his best interview.
I understand why someone would say he should not have her on because she is a snake-oil salesman, but I think he should, not just to show he is fair but because often they reveal criminality, as Eastman did on Ari Melber – and many refuse because they don't want to be asked questions. Her talent may make that harder, but she did not come off well. Let us stand up for what is right and fair, but also not let them get away with their tricks. We just need to be smarter, and our values will shine through & expose them for who they are.
