  • Sukhbir Sekhon on May 1, 2022

Notice those polls didn't ask if Americans are willing to pay higher taxes to pay for all those things like medicare for all. Everybody wants great social services but when it comes to voting people look at their own pockets. And then they are surprised when they see the lack of public services.

Will Democrats support Kamala Running for President in 2024?🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Biden took us from build back better to broke, broke, broke!
    Blacks are starving under Biden

  • THOMAS MILLER on May 2, 2022

We need to change our government and especially Scotus, there has to be oversight for them as well, It should be illegal to take away rights from anyone.

  • Robert Parker on May 2, 2022

So Joy Reid is for ending Separation of Powers??????????????????? OOOOO God and 5mil peeps watch MSNBC. Dirty Fossils Fuels LOL Comcast Hold Assets in BlackRock and BlackRock is the biggest offender on Planet . Your Such Hypocrites and you have duped the American people for the last time.

  • Robert Parker on May 2, 2022

Joys Revisits History. The Founders were 2nd and 3rd some even 4th Generation they longer saw themselves as Europeans . Joy is for Bringing back a Despot Monarchy or CCP controlled. Slavery ended in the Northern States in 1824 , 1825 the Democratic Party was born as a response. It was Democrats that wouldn't end slavery and started a Civil war also Nationalized and instituted Segregation.

Lawrence O’Donnell, is for ending states and Local Governments . WOW Straight Communism. A Mirror of China
Republican's know the process of Government. Even Young Republican's
Democrats are ill-Informed of how Government works . Why Dem Progressives get stuck on one issue. (You Can thank DNCMSNBC for not informing their voting block )

O'Donnell is either the dumbest person at MSNBC or just likes to ignore historical fact! The Senate is NOT SUPPOSED to be Democratic! The Senate is the check and balance on the tyranny of the majority in the U.S. House of Representatives! It forces compromise and is supposed to be a guarantee against violent uprisings when one political party runs roughshod over the minority!

  • J5L5M6 on May 2, 2022

A thousand pleads, more content on policy foundation, like this. I watch C-SPAN and PBS Newshour because they help me be informed on what representatives are actually doing. If a powerful network the likes of MSNBC can arm the populace with proper info and nuance as to why things happen the way they do, that is a path to an informed electorate.

The Senate is the check and balance on the tyranny of the majority in the U.S. House of Representatives! It forces compromise and consensus and is supposed to be a guarantee against violent uprisings in the streets when one political party runs roughshod over the minority!

We walked through a plague to get Dems the 3 branches of govt and it didn't matter. Sinemanchin should've been LBJ'd until they waved the white flag and signed the fkg bills. Democrats are weak. They let 2 DINOs decide the fate of 328 million ppl. The weakest links in the chain run the whole fkg country.

  • Moll Flanders on May 3, 2022

Ukraine is fighting for the same Democracy that we are throwing away with both hands.😞

  • aexious on May 3, 2022

The GOP is a single issue: abortion

  • All this reinforces for me is that the two- party system doesn't work. But then, that's the point, isn't it?

  • dorpth on May 4, 2022

SO many of our current problems can be traced back to how fatally flawed an institution the senate is.
-A state of 0.5 million getting the same representation power as a state of 37 million is ridiculous.
-Senators representing as little as 16% of the population can filibuster bills.
-The task of important cabinet and judiciaries go through the undemocratic senate as opposed to the house.
-Senators get 6 year terms with no limits, longer than any other elected position.

We're the only democracy to give so much power to such an undemocratic legislative branch. The British had the right idea to not give their House of Lords any real power. The senate should be demoted to the same kind of advisory figurehead institution.

  • Keith Perdue on May 4, 2022

America is dead folks. Wake up! We can't elect our own POTUS. Congress has members who tried to overthrow the govt. The SCOTUS is obviously tainted. Face it, the "great exoeriment" failed, greed for power won.

  • dorpth on May 4, 2022

Lawrence is right and wrong. His knowledge of the 13 colonies' population in 1787 is way off. New York was only the 5th biggest state in 1787. The difference in sizes WAS huge. Virginia had 12 times the population of Delaware.

He's right in that the senate was a disaster from the start, but even moreso now when the difference between largest and smallest state is nearly EIGHTY to one. The senate should have never been given any more power than similar institutions like the British House of Lords.

  • G.M.A.S on May 4, 2022

Just as fringe-minority-anti-abortion-policies are set to pass in your country; so will this skewed and corrupted system prevent essential reforms and state benefits being passed. I hate to say it, but you are so right. Normal Americans will be kept in a stranglehold of job insecurity, low wages, exorbitant healthcare costs and insufficient government welfare support. It is so very much better here in the UK, but our current government is doing it's utmost to slide us towards the small-government, corporate sh%tshow you guys have.

  • Grindle on May 4, 2022

Way to go, biden. forgive those student loans. BUY THOSE VOTES! fool

  • Kenneth W. Ratcliff on May 6, 2022

    I concur with you.

  • Onyx David on May 8, 2022

Benevolent Authoritarianism (BA) is how you make America One Nation Under God. A government that is powerful enough to enforce equitable measures on every level of American life. It won't be a democratic because democracy doesn't work when you have a formidable group of unruly individuals like the GOP. BA would be just and absolute.

  • Teresa Johnson on May 10, 2022

  • WILLIAM BURNETT on May 10, 2022

Absolutely yes. The next 3 years will be the difference. Dem voters and independents must vote up and down and destroy the republican scum. Or else have a cash reserve and a valid passport. Peace baby.

  • CatsMeow68 on May 10, 2022

Biden's agenda is dead until we vote more Democrats into the House and Senate and kick Manchin and Sinema to the curb.

  • Sharon King on May 10, 2022

Clean out the supreme court judges now along with get rid of the electric tro college vote bull

  • Sharon King on May 10, 2022

The two democratic are on shakey ground if there is 3 more to replace them

  • Micke_zzxx on May 12, 2022

It's ungovernable and has always been, due to corruption being built-in into politics and campaigning.
It just hasn't come to a critical level until now.
And the supreme court, in any reasonable country, all money/funds to scotus would be fully controlled by the congress and all other funding/income would be illegal for a supreme judge.
Another built-in problem of governing is the majority seats that prohibits a pluralistic party system.
Two parties are too few when one of them is turning rogue

  • Micke_zzxx on May 12, 2022

I don't think the main problem is that the constitution was designed by European men.
The problem is more that you stopped looking at Europe when we modernized our constitutions to be more efficient and safer for protecting democracy.
You got so smug over your once so revolutionary constitution that you started to view it as a holy artifact instead of keeping it modern
