I wonder if Ginni Thomas was telling John Eastman legal strategy that she got from her husband? Surely she herself isn't an attorney.

  • Bryan West on June 17, 2022

"Why did it take so long for Pense to do the right thing?" Because he's a spineless fundamentalist evangelical Christian. They are morally apposed to putting what is right above their thirst for governmental and theocratic power. You can probably count all the time Pense has "done the right thing" on one hand.

  • Torquil MacPherson on June 17, 2022

Pence is not a hero. Pence is an opportunist who acted to save his brand. He waivers daily to do the heroic and just by condemning and fully outlining Trump’s atrocities and in doing so condemns himself!

  • Carol Cisko on June 17, 2022

Integrity is when you do the right thing when no one is looking ✅

  • Otis Wilson on June 17, 2022

If that genius hasn’t belittled him that morning would he said anything.

  • NY Grl on June 17, 2022

He never came out and told everyone that Trump was a liar. His silence was consent to the big lie. He spent four years being a fatuous lap dog. He's no hero.

  • Erin Mich on June 17, 2022

Pence feared for his life, that’s why he didn’t get in car.

  • Occam3132 on June 17, 2022

Pence is no hero. He did the bare minimum and followed the law. He deserves no praise.

  • Ross on June 17, 2022

    100%. Pence is NO HERO

  • Hy Seize on June 17, 2022

Let's try to help Merrick Garland out:
The GOP is a DTO & brainwashed cult on a hair-trigger and the violence will happen no matter what. The question is, "Would you rather have the uprising occur while Dems are still the Majority Party in Congress, or after the GOP takes control of Congress in November via fradulant "wins" in the elections?"
The Majority Party can expel the GOP as a Domestic Terrorist Organization (and brainwashed cult) – "unfit to hold public office" via an attempted coup, insurrection, sedition & treason. Then reasonable legislation on many issues can be passed. It really is that simple.

  • Hugh G Rection on June 17, 2022

Nothing is going to stop Trump becoming president once more. Book your therapy now.

  • Angie Alexis on June 17, 2022

Are the fake electors also going to face charges?

  • Kip Mcbride on June 17, 2022

Pence had advisors that were smart enough to realize the road with Trump always ends in disaster for everyone except Trump. The system is broken but it still is able to salvage a little constitutionality.

  • Lilia Perdiguerra on June 17, 2022

Politicians are like gymnasts. They know the balance very well. Politicians may even be better. It is a shame.

  • Marshall Barkema on June 17, 2022

    She's a B!!

  • Wanda Dunham on June 17, 2022

Yes he knew but he still didn't care bunker boy trump said I'm going to get others to do my dirty work!!

  • James Campbell on June 17, 2022

Because he hadn’t decided to run for president until now.

  • Joanne Maurer on June 17, 2022

He didn’t get a pardon because he “failed” at his task. He stood by 45 and 45 abandoned him. Maybe the DOJ will have better luck.

  • PJ Ostrowski on June 17, 2022

If as Mike Pence believed that God had a plan for him in his selection for his Vice Presidency then he he missed his chance to really listen to his God on more than one occasion.

  • ssucher1able on June 17, 2022

    Bye Bye Democrats

  • Sonny Roy on June 17, 2022

pencie is NOT to be trusted.

  • emailchrismoll on June 17, 2022

If Lindsey Graham or Mitch McConnell would have been the vice president, what do you think would have happened?

  • joe Pro on June 17, 2022

It looks like Eastman should have negotiated his quid pro quo pardon before he went down the rabbit hole for Trump.

  • M L on June 17, 2022

Everything Pence does is calculated and geared towards protecting and promoting himself. He is a very manipulative and deceitful man who pretends to be an upstanding Christian. If anyone were to be the "anti-Christ" it would be him.

  • Kevin Hoffman on June 17, 2022

I look forward to her explaining her criminal activity

  • Ms. Vee on June 17, 2022

ginni and her husband should be in jail!!!!

  • Equality For All on June 17, 2022

I truly believe if Pence could have overturned the election, he would have.
Pence did nothing but lie….blatantly lie….to cover up for all of Trump's lies in all 4 years he served.

  • the pretentious illiterate on June 17, 2022

If Pence testifies he will be the biggest American hero of the last 70 years. It's better then pretendING Ragan defeated Russia.

  • Crystal Whitfield on June 17, 2022

You have to be careful around narcissists and terrorists. While I don't think of him as a hero, I don't think of him as a coward either.

  • cdjhyoung on June 17, 2022

I won't fault Pence for his silence. I'm sure he was doing the political calculations as described here, but I'm going to give him credit for deciding to stay in place and do what he knew to be right for the country. Pence could have run the other way, figuratively and literally, but he stayed to preside over the count of the electors because he knew if he was absent, someone else would preside and crumble to Trump's will.

He's is far from a hero, but he stood up to Trump the one time it really mattered. That is worth noting.

As for if he should ever have the chance to run for President, I'll vote for whatever chump the Democrats run against him because I don't trust him to have another trust worthy moment in his soul.

  • Robin Williams on June 17, 2022

It's always been ABOUT the 74million voters.. NOTHING MORE. THE capital was crawling with alien insects aka tRUMP cultists

  • Carol-lee Lane on June 17, 2022

Thank you! Pence and every other public servant in that Administration betrayed the Republic by covering up the coup attempt, even during the impeachment trial for Trump after the coup violence and the coup collusion by those Republican Congress members and Senators who played their part in the “Green Bay Sweep”. There are no Republican heroes here. Only shamefaced co-conspirators.

  • Deborah Lukovich on June 17, 2022

This is such a good point. He’s not a hero. He’s kind of cowardly for waiting until then.

  • Deborah Lukovich on June 17, 2022

    Many people
Could have stopped trump but they didn’t.

  • dehsa on June 17, 2022

Sounds like a story motivated by Trump…

  • Renato Corvaro on June 17, 2022

Pence did his duty on January 6th, which is good.

But let's not forget that he was a bigot and Trump supporter right until then, and he stayed a bigot after.

  • Lester Chin on June 17, 2022

Trumpist Republicans and the Rule of Law…what a mockery! Hypocrisy to the nth degree.

  • DrumWild on June 17, 2022

Pence is a Christian Republican. They aren't known for being moral people, or doing the right thing. They have to TELL everyone they're "patriots" and "good Christians," because NOBODY would ever guess it based on what they say and do.

  • Miss Patti from Cali. on June 17, 2022

Didn't want to disappoint a bunch of murderous thugs!!! 🤔🤔🤔🤔

  • CMitch2007 on June 17, 2022

I think this has already been covered, the man is a 2 dimensional coward.

  • Cindy PLAZA on June 17, 2022

To be fair to Pence, and I can't believe I defend this guy, he was probably afraid for his life. The big lie was so much vocal among all Trump supporters that anyone voicing their opposition could have him hung before Jan 6.

  • Rebecca Harris Hunt on June 17, 2022

I think Pence was legitimately fearful for his life, knowing how horribly corrupt POTUS was. I agree that he should NOT be viewed as some kind of national hero, all things considered, but he may have feared for his and his family's safety.
