If u don’t eat pork like myself you can use beef bacon or turkey bacon( which have less fat and grease that will clog your arteries )

“When your bacon is foamy, it’s done homie”
One of the many amusing cooking tips from Chef John.
Thank you so much Sir! 🙂

I would never have thought of cheddar cheese with sweet potato!❤️

  • sick little monkey on June 23, 2021

I love sweet potatoes. But I think I would've gone with BROWN SUGAR, CINNAMON. and maybe some VANILLA BEAN . But that's just me . And if you bake your sweet potatoes wrapped in foil the peelings are very tender and very delicious ….. but hard to stuff .

  • Stacy Langford on July 15, 2021

I don't know why I picked up sweet potatoes. My grandma would bake them, they would be like candy. So, I gotta try this. The bacon is what will bring it together. The onion and pepper will too. I might try this with some regular spuds too. Thanks for the video! Keep cooking, cookie

I like the humour in your vids and everything looks delicious. This I will have to try. Never done sweet potatoes before.

  • Brian Jennings on October 9, 2021

I dunno..the fresh baked sweet potato I'm eating is pretty good.

  • Renee Barger on October 12, 2021

These look hums but we thought you were an up state, finger lakes fella. Which means you stuff sweet pots with a mash of the potatoes, baked apples or pears, craisins, sweet butter and maple. You can throw a little roasted garlic & cheddar in too. Crispy onion on top with a maple drizzle. Good for acorn squashes too. That’s the Cayuga double bake.

  • Paul Cousino on October 24, 2021

Roasted garlic would be great to add also.

  • NoName99 NoFace88 on October 27, 2021

all wrong…they should be filled with walnuts, pineapple and marshmellows!

  • J Elsner on November 19, 2021

I think Im going to make this, but bake it in a casserole dish for Thanksgiving. I hate those marshmallow topped sweet potatoes.

  • Beth King on November 19, 2021

Chef, this recipe has become hugely popular with my family and friends for several years now. They are now a tradition. I'm making them for our company potluck next week

  • Cleveland Ironman on November 23, 2021

I have both stuffed and twice baked a potato… but never a sweet potato.

    Now I shall!

  • Juanita McDowell on December 15, 2021

Wonder how these would taste with Turkey bacon instead.

  • Liborio Medina on December 23, 2021

I had no bacon. Only tri tip from beef dip leftover. It actually works. I sautéed the shredded tri tip on my cast iron skillet with green onions and followed the recipe from there on out. Family loved it. I’m beginning to think sweet potatoes work for a lot of potato recipes. Thanks Chef!

Your fake chef, actor voice is very irritating. I'm sure by design, since you work for the 'company' that makes videos for the 'youtube' algorithm. Fake news you are.

  • connie slater on January 2, 2022

I make these to go along with your salt and pepper spareribs along with a side of steamed broccoli topped with a drizzle of balsamic-it is the perfect meal with all the complex flavors working together thankyou for this video
