Hey, John…do you suppose this batter might work as a sheet baked cake? How about adding whole kernel corn? 😋💕

  • ermonski on March 20, 2020

Why isn't there a Father's Day Brunch? Unfortunately dad is disposable in our twisted society, and look where we are.

  • Michael Jackson on July 21, 2020

Chef John 6 years is a long time, but you have nailed how to present today. Loved your voice being raised at the end of each sentence then, not annoying at all (LOL), so much better now though.Oh and by the way, loved the recipe!

  • Diane Greene on July 22, 2020

My friend doesn't want a birthday cake bc his mother died on his birthday [can you believe it?] so I will make these instead.

  • Lisa Sirlin-Hall on September 13, 2020

Extraordinary recipe. I made with browned butter and subbing duck sausage for the bacon. My husband went nuts. LOVED them! They also freeze beautifully and can reheat in a toaster. Seriously. They also great savory as a side dish with grilled meats. Can't say enough good things about this dish. Thanks Chef John – we love so many of your recipes!

  • Lisa Sirlin-Hall on October 4, 2020

Yum!! I made these with duck sausage and browned butter. My husband went crazy. FYI they also freeze beautifully and you can reheat in a toaster! Thx Chef John!

2 lbs of bacon on the side

  • tna_handyandy on April 1, 2021

No, "mancakes" doesn't sound temperamental, whatsoever. That would be womancakes.

  • Rob Kopple on April 15, 2021

Really surprised that Chef didn't add jalapenos to the batter.

  • drtash21 on May 1, 2021

No lie I felt my testosterone levels increasing as I watched this recipe.

  • Anonymef on May 20, 2021

I will cook for my son even he would remember it to being the father one day and where someone would cook for him some "manfood"

  • Din Djarin on June 2, 2021

I thought these were from Henry danger LOL

  • Mike N on July 17, 2021

Looks good. I make my corn cakes by using 2 parts corn meal, salt, 1 part "Just Add Water" instant pancake mix, and enough water to form a think batter. You don't need eggs because the pancake mix is the binder and rises.

  • Rich Thomas on September 10, 2021

What makes savory food "manly?" What, sweet pancakes are feminine and savory pancakes are masculine? C'mon. I usually really like Chef John's videos, but he really goes out of his way to make arbitrary values into some kind of gender identity with this one. Ignorant and backwards.

  • Ziggy Pi on September 18, 2021

love the addition of corn flour and chipolte heat in the maple syrup….jamie oliver has similar recipe with actual corn..which is pretty great…but even better with trader joes corn salsa!! watch out

  • Diane Greene on December 5, 2021

Chef says to use large eggs. What are labeled large eggs in the grocery store are what used to be medium. The eggs that used to be large are now labeled extra large. Which should I use in a Chef John recipe, or am I overthinking this? I made them once using eggs labeled large and they were received with happiness, but some ppl have a more discerning palate than others.
