If no one is held accountable for 1/6,the next presidential election will be the final election this country ever has,for there will be a completed coup! There will be a forceful overtaking of the office and an autocratic ruler will be installed!
The committee is a fraud! Trump authorized the callup of 20,000 National Guard troops on Jan. 5th to help protect the capitol. The Capitol Police chief requested the troops but Nancy Pelosi rejected them! And the committee says her office is off limits in their hearings! WHY? WHAT ARE THEY TRYING TO HIDE?
The real problem is a large part of the country have moved past Jan 6th and really don't care what happens there. Literally the only thing they are thinking is, the party in power has caused a huge amount of inflation, and the party not in power can fix it…..
No one seems to be hearing the public, who are tired of being sold to. Trump was successful because he knows how to speak like he's not a politician, like he's just telling the unvarnished truth (while, of course, lying constantly).
When your kids cross from being annoying or irresponsible into territory where they're going to hurt someone, get hurt, or otherwise seriously screw up, you stop scolding or yelling at them and speak quietly, simply, and briefly, looking them in the eye, not embellishing.
Do NOT "sell, sell, sell" the inner workings of 1/6. Present things clearly, simply, and fully without any embellishment or polishing. The "selling", the "communication" strategizing, all gives potential independent thinkers an excuse to say "they're putting their side in the best possible light; I can just ignore this because it's not the whole story". Stop with the "messaging" and switch to 100% honesty.

If the Department of Justice does not act on all this smoking gun evidence, they will be relinquishing their responsibility to hold people at the highest level of government responsible for an attempted coup

So, refer these people to the DOJ for investigation and prosecution. Quit wringing your hands about the 'optics of partisanship', and DO THE RIGHT THING. Provide the oversight which is your Constitutional purview and duty, and Defend the Constitution and the Rule of Law.

I strongly disagree that the Dems will do anything to effectively hold the Repubs accountable for their treasonous behavior: 1) The Dems are Republican-lite. 2) The Dems are the controlled opposition. Their job is to control people of color, specifically Black folks and the Black electorate. 3) The Dems are serving the same masters, the Donor class. 4) The Dems apparently refuse to take any page from the Repubs playbook because they do not want to "win," or "save democracy" because they are afraid of the Repubs at every level of the fight. Lastly, if the 45th and cabal were Muslim, Black, Latino, women (white or melinated), this entire country would be unified in its rebuke and repressive in its approach to dealing with the problem. Do you think for one nano-second if the Insurrectionists were Black or Latinos or Muslim people scaling the walls and vandalizing, of the Citadel of Democracy, there would this nonchalant and hypocritical attitude toward that despicable act perpetrated on the foundation of this country? The short answer is, No! White people, your hypocrisy is the leading cause of the demise of this country.

I'm in 100% agreement!!! Dems need to get their act together on every1 involved with J6 coup attempt. At least, the cases won't have 2 be judged by an entirely controlled senate. The hearings should be held in the evening so every Dem can hear it. The DOJ also needs 2 get all those subpoenas 2gether, served & get if their proverbial a$$es in gear. As a bad neighbour, I only started paying attention to American politics in 2015. I realized I've lived next to the US for 50 years and didn't have a clue what a primary was. Now that I have a basic grasp of what goes on there, I feel repulsed by the GOP in general. I find it heartening that former members of that now horror show are not holding back criticizing their successors. Kudos to Nicole Wallace, Charlie Sykes, Michael Steele, Joe Scarborough and so many others who saw this crap for what it is. The Select Committee is toothless, because the DOJ is a joke under Garland. Early in his campaign, Biden said that "[he thought] prosecuting a [any] former president would be bad for Democracy". Garland is just being a good soldier and doing what Old Joe wants. Merrick Garland and the Biden Administration are afraid of the civil unrest that Trump threatens. This inherent weakness of character is embellished by the belief that the best way to deal with the crimes of the powerful is to forget about them and focus on doing good. This is the kind of weak-minded strategy that has been the hallmark of Biden's career. Trump and his minions will surely remain above the law because of this failure of leadership. And by the end of the day, it won't matter whether the Biden Administration is complicit, culpable or merely an unwitting dupe in this deadly threat to our great experiment in Democracy: it will be a distinction of no difference in wake from the demise of our way of life.
If our Laws are written and no one is held accountable to those Laws the question stands that if a tree falls in he woods did it make a sound? When you allow people to lie and re-write their history with out consequence the people who look om, expecting justice to win are taken aback and fall into dismay.
