Sounded like you said,” Pink Eye Chicken.”

Excellent recipes but do you have to say 'that's right' every time you announce the name of the dish? It's annoying.

I'm lucky that my cousins are actually half-Laotian (my aunt married a man from Laos) and one of them is an aspiring chef. Now, some of the meals are too traditional for my taste (I don't eat cow stomach or fish eyes) but even the stuff I refuse to eat smells delicious and the stuff I do eat definitely is delicious.

I don't think there is a more divisive ingredient than green soap leaves. I always get evil looks at restaurants when I ask if there is cilantro in the recipe. There is a highly recommended Thai restaurant in my area I refuse to eat at because they will not omit the cilantro.

At 6:43 he says LO-ation instead of LAY-otion. Lol.

Made this today, as a celebratory meal. It was amazing, can't recommend this marinade highly enough.

This is going to be one more of the many recipes I've tried from Chef John.
I love your recipes! I'm a big fan of your recipes, i.e. Honey Garlic Shrimp, or Hungarian Goulash, or the Korean Street Sandwich; Tuscan Fish Soup, etc…
I'm used to strong, definite flavors. I like that you do much marinating to your meats (Sticky Garlic Pork Chops) Love your Recipes.
Will let you know how this chicken comes out. I think the Marinade and the Dipping Sauce, are going to be superb!.. will let you know. Regards, Gerhard

You lost me at "skinless". That's the best part!

  • John Masquelier on July 20, 2021

Wow! You got an endorsement from Jack, another of my favorites. You keep coming up with winners John. I thank you very much.

Your speech pitch pattern is preadolescent. Honestly, I like the content, but have you Listened to yourself?

Hell’s bells this is an awwwwesome recipe. I made this chicken dish for a few guests, one of whom is a prof at a very prestigious cooking school and a cordon bleu trained chef. She loved this dish and asked for the recipe. I forwarded your link.

Haha grilled chicken is actually gai (chicken) ping (grill). Words are arranged backwards for us for whatever reason.

  • Jeneh Young on September 17, 2021

This is awesome. Is there a substitute for oyster sauce? I have a friend who’s wife is allergic to shellfish.

I had a good laugh out the gate where I happened to have CC turned on and the captions dubbed this dish Pink Eye Chicken. 🤣 This looks like a bangin' recipe, though.

Comments from a Canadian: you want to elevate that recipe? Use black peppercorns from Cambodia. I am hooked. And nothing comes close!!!

Don't take the subtitles too seriously or you would never make this recipe!
