I'm lucky that my cousins are actually half-Laotian (my aunt married a man from Laos) and one of them is an aspiring chef. Now, some of the meals are too traditional for my taste (I don't eat cow stomach or fish eyes) but even the stuff I refuse to eat smells delicious and the stuff I do eat definitely is delicious.
I don't think there is a more divisive ingredient than green soap leaves. I always get evil looks at restaurants when I ask if there is cilantro in the recipe. There is a highly recommended Thai restaurant in my area I refuse to eat at because they will not omit the cilantro.
At 6:43 he says LO-ation instead of LAY-otion. Lol.
Made this today, as a celebratory meal. It was amazing, can't recommend this marinade highly enough.
First time I tasted ping gai, i fell in love with it. That dipping sauce is a must have.

I love your recipes! I'm a big fan of your recipes, i.e. Honey Garlic Shrimp, or Hungarian Goulash, or the Korean Street Sandwich; Tuscan Fish Soup, etc…
I'm used to strong, definite flavors. I like that you do much marinating to your meats (Sticky Garlic Pork Chops) Love your Recipes.
