Rodent Roommates | Explorers in the Field ctm magazine

Many consider a mouse in the house a nuisance, but biologist and National Geographic Explorer Danielle Lee doesn’t always think that’s the case. Join her as she conducts transects along gradients of human/mice habitat to look at how humans and mice interact in rural and urban areas. Sometimes, the most interesting animals and science are right on your sidewalk.

If rodents are a nuisance, what are humans. Oh, I know. Superior beings, like gods, right.

National Geographic emerging explorer, Danielle N. Lee studies nuisance rodents, aiming to learn more about them so we can live better lives. What was the most interesting thing you learned from this video?

    wow love 😀

  • Lucas 'Ktulu789' on April 29, 2020

I get the idea that the voice is being dubbed when she talks off video and then the editor switches to the real voice when she's on screen. That's weird. This is something I always hated about NatGeo. They even do spanish voice over when spanish speakers are talking just to give them some neutral spanish accent but I would rather get subtitles than getting this fake voices. Original voice is always more expressive than any voice over actor, no matter how many experience they have.

  • Lucas 'Ktulu789' on April 29, 2020

So she uses gloves, touches the mice, then touches the boxes and traps… Then holds the traps against her body… Nice :-S

  • Kevin Luo on April 29, 2020

So cute. Yet had a mouse infestation at my house.

  • Doyle Foust on April 29, 2020

The whole rodent family is easy to kill! They can't burp. Set out a little beer or soda, they explode on the inside.

  • M B on April 29, 2020

This lady is delightful! I'd watch a whole series hosted by her.

  • Vampurr Kitty on April 30, 2020
