• @Looper on April 27, 2024

What movies would you recommend for this list?

  • @adrisan6296 on April 28, 2024

Annihilation was actually a horrible movie. Without a doubt, one of worst movies I've ever watched.

  • @briannastultz1468 on April 28, 2024

I love Starship Troopers. It’s a cult classic even though it’s so dumb.

  • @elijahmodnar1 on April 28, 2024

  • @radomirkorac-uu3nk on April 28, 2024

    Deep Rising (1998). Great movie!

  • @bazzer124 on April 28, 2024

As a Heinlein fan, I found "Starship Troopers" to be a ridiculously inferior adaptation of the book, heavy on camp with an unexciting, weak in plot. Think of GWTW leaving out the Civil War. That's how vapid and inane the movie was. Cheers….

  • @lifediversified8932 on April 28, 2024

    9 monkeys
    mars attacks
    event horizon (obviously)
fifth element (don't know if it bombed)
    brass teapot
    the box
    the thing 2011
    velvet buzzsaw (gotta watch)
    butterfly effect (2011)
    project almanac
    in time
    palm springs
    chain reaction
    heavy metal
    spectral (loved it)

there are lots of other videos here on this topic to give you more movie ideas.

i made a list called off-beat films recently on imdb that kinda fits with this theme but not limited to sci-fi.

  • @crystalweible152 on April 28, 2024

    I guess I am old. I own'em all.🤣

  • @kimballin1115 on April 28, 2024

Y'all running out of stuff to talk about . …damn

  • @ajh6354 on April 28, 2024

Loved almost every one of these. Saw none of them at the theater.

  • @Phornax7 on April 28, 2024

The 13th Floor is underrated and worth a watch IMO

  • @O4FUXACHE on April 28, 2024

And how much creative bookkeeping was used by the studios to grab a few dollars worth of tax deductions on these "losses" ?

  • @hermanturnip3984 on April 28, 2024

Annihilation is a fun movie, but it shared nearly nothing with the books, which bummed me out. Was hoping to see the tower, the lighthouse, and the pursuit to the reef and the dive underwater.

  • @destodelvita112 on April 28, 2024

I love this list, it is spot on!

  • @1992disney on April 28, 2024

If I were you, I'd replace Titan A.E. with Treasure Planet.

  • @archibaldsalyards926 on April 28, 2024

Is it just me, or is there a Pink Floyd homage in "Children Of Men?"… I won't explain, because if you get it, you got it.

  • @archibaldsalyards926 on April 28, 2024

How was "Equilibrium" not on this list? One of my favorite Sci-Fi future films. And it has Christian Bale!

  • @BobSure_AKA_PotatoSmasher on April 28, 2024

Fox saw "Idiocracy" before it's release and said: "holy 💩, this will hit too close to home for some." Bury it. We are becoming Idiocracy. Watch this movie TODAY and see how many themes apply to us now.

  • @lapprentice on April 28, 2024

Let's just say the mass has terrible taste. Hence they like McDonald's and cheap, brainless, PG-13 "action" movies.

  • @RudolfSikorsky on April 28, 2024

I have seen all of them and liked most of them but Annihilation was total joke.

  • @nothingelse1520 on April 28, 2024

I found that people out of the UK liked Children of Men, but people in the UK hated it "a low budget BBC-esque special where everything moves crazy fast to cover up nothing is happening" I thought it was a great film

  • @WeskerLogan on April 29, 2024

didnt starship troopers do gang busters on dvd?

  • @markkoops2611 on April 29, 2024

Starship Troopers Did Not Bomb. It's an absolute classic

  • @JJ-bc1te on April 29, 2024

Funny that movies can be regarded as classic and realistically be ranked in top 200 movies ever yet be failure.
Abyss , The Thing , and Children of Men are all spoke so highly of

  • @thewebstylist on April 29, 2024

The Thing special effects ahead of their time indeed.
I’ll be checking out Sunshine and Dark City

  • @invaderjae on April 29, 2024

All these movies are SO good. Sunshine is one of my favorites though. And Titan A.E. was just such a underrated movie with a great soundtrack.

  • @jamesjimbob71 on April 29, 2024

dredd, starship troopers and the thing are all great films

  • @bbowman105 on April 29, 2024

This list reads like a top ten of my favorite films!

  • @bbowman105 on April 29, 2024

Sunshine received no marketing in the US and was only in the theaters a week or so. Then they delayed the release of it on DVD or BluRay. It is exceptional, though, with a very intense final act.

  • @user-dm2nx4yu5o on April 29, 2024

I actually don’t understand the need to include how much a movie made or even cost…

  • @Jaime.Lannister on April 29, 2024

    Really? No Predestination (2014)

  • @djlowtek on April 29, 2024

    Idiocracy isn't a movie, it's a prophecy

  • @ryanackley3109 on April 30, 2024

Some don’t age well. But they become cult classics.

  • @omar168 on April 30, 2024

Look at Starship Troopers as a fascist propaganda movie, it is brilliant as that

  • @michaelmartin4874 on April 30, 2024

Soldier with Kurt Russell should be number 1.

  • @danlove12k on May 1, 2024

The abyss was not a flop 😅

  • @rodrickscott5683 on May 1, 2024

Sunshine was an awesome movie! 👌
    Great list!

  • @hdready999 on May 1, 2024

Dredds bigger problem was The raid…

  • @tobynormoyle637 on May 9, 2024

Considering all the strife in the US these days I am really surprised Strange Days has not seen a resurgence. But I suppose it is too balanced to appeal to either side.

I still do not understand why Children of Men gets so much praise, it is one of the most boring movies I have ever seen. Take that and Annihilation off this list and it would be near perfect!

  • @aidanmargarson8910 on May 14, 2024

love strange days .. just saying

  • @aidanmargarson8910 on May 14, 2024

    beca7se your pitching to morons

  • @MrAkagrim on May 29, 2024

Strange days is an amazing film.
