  • beeble2003 on October 17, 2015

I just found this video posted on a channel called "Hungry Nation". They acknowledged it as yours but did they get your permission to repost?

  • twisteddiana on November 28, 2015

Just cooked this. It's interesting to say the least.
I think I got it little too sweet (just a little). Anyway, will make it again till I get it perfect.
    Thanks!

  • Jerry JerryW on December 16, 2015

This is really good, just added minced ginger to the sauce…its got layers of good flavor, he says its weird but I really liked this a lot…I have cooked his pork dishes and never had a bad thing to say about them….this guy is really a great find.

  • Eliot's Vlog on January 12, 2016

I think I found all the recipes you have for pork chops. I will try this. 🙂

  • Serhiy Pazelskyy on January 27, 2016

I cant seem to find your version of General Tso's … Am I just blind or may be you have forgotten the classic? )

  • Nigel Johnson on March 10, 2016

Is pink pork safe in asia?

  • FSX Flight Sim Pilot on April 8, 2016

I add bell pepper to mine, try it.

  • ʕ´•ᴥ•`ʔ on April 21, 2016

I think adding chunks of mixed peppers, onions and mushrooms makes it lovely.

  • Nigel Johnson on June 1, 2016

Looks great, but pork in many countries needs cooking properly, not all pork is raised to European and American standards. If you want pink pork, make sure its from a high standards nation. Although why anyone would like raw meat, no idea.

  • Samuel Greenrod on August 24, 2016

Can you get a good sear on a non stick pan or would the non stick prevent searing?

  • MrKErocks on August 28, 2016

But Chef John, I like dayglo! LOL

  • Melissa on December 20, 2016

Made this for lunch today. Didn't have pineapple chunks so I just used some apple juice instead and it came out great. A+ from me!

  • Mournful Walrus on January 25, 2017

Made this one tonight, it tastes pretty damn close to the Chinese places around here, wow!

also, little bit of cornstarch to thicken up the sauce for our preference, worked as a simple addition

  • Andrei Aldwaikat on March 2, 2017

    The recipe is missed…

  • The Coin Alley on April 16, 2017

I like using boneless pork ribs with my version. It comes out great.

  • Kevin Walter on May 15, 2017

    Gotta cook the pork more.

  • joe goecke on August 20, 2017

I souped it up a little, with some chunks of green pepper and white onion- the sauce, everything- outstanding! Thanks for this!

  • princessrose17 on September 25, 2017

Your sounds good, (and i love your recipes) but you need to try my family's version. Like yours it is not fried but ours is a bit healthier and even simpler to make then yours! Would love if you did a video of mine. Just let me know if you want the recipe!

  • Dale C on September 30, 2017

Sweet and Sour pork without breading, and a genuinely good sauce. Thanks, been trying to find this kind of recipe.

  • elisa orozco on January 4, 2018

    Super good!

  • Cyndi Foore on April 8, 2018

We’ve had that cook the pork well done drummed into us for decades. I wouldn’t be able to eat it even a little pink. Plus I’ve eaten this cooked through so long I like the taste.
I love chops done so the fat on the edge is crispy.
    Can’t eat chicken pink either.

  • Nic Bing on April 9, 2018

she  har ratza  sauce   ???? wtf  is that  ?  u mean  sri ra cha ….as in Sri Racha   Thailand  ?? catch up  yankee …or  I'll  turn u Down too low …  super  broken  sentences ..think  pink ..and as always …. blah  blah  diblah  !!

  • Francois Bergevin on April 17, 2018

Just made this and WOW. I did not expect this to turn out so well. You sir, are a genius!

  • Pale Horse on July 21, 2018

I'm just not a fan of sweet and sour sauce with ketchup in it because then the sauce just tastes like ketchup with a bit of vinegar stirred in, and since I'm not a big fan of ketchup, that's a deal breaker for me.

  • General Kenobi on August 26, 2018

I loved this version of sweet-sour sauce, thank you. I also don't like starchiness of the original, so it worked perfect for me.
However, I used starch to cover pork which I cut in cubes so it became more crunchy. 10/10.

  • d dd on September 23, 2018

Could you make duck a la orange this way? I would personally prefer more ketchup in mine.

  • Janice Hoff on February 15, 2019

Except for the fact you put "hot" sauce, or other hot ingredients in virtually everything, I love your recipes and tutorials, because you encourage everyone to make it their own. Love using pork tenderloin!

  • Gabriel Carvalho on February 16, 2019

Medium? You crazy, John. Pork can't be eaten unless it's well done.

  • Sandra Marks on March 18, 2019

    Made this tonight. Perfection!

  • Will Conway Jr on July 14, 2019

    Where's the onion?

  • Kimchi Love on November 25, 2019

    This is so delicious 😋
I slice pork tenderloin thin and stir fry with traditional veg but no batter and use this sauce.
Muuuuch better than that ole gooey, fried mess

  • ZMF2017 on December 1, 2019

Do you have the flu? Love your cooking.

  • Will Conway Jr on January 23, 2020

    Where are the vegetables?

  • Mary Gwen Dungan on April 20, 2020

  • Ti Che on June 13, 2020

Had no pineapple used lychees and it's time juice 😂 we'll see I put it in the slowcooker there's a lot of fat I want to render out. Thanks John sure it won't disappoint 😁

Shri Ra hadca sauce ? ok Sciracha..an eastern seaboard town in Thailand

  • millerjoan on September 10, 2020

You're absolutely right, this is a strange dish. I had the opportunity to go to China for a few weeks and chef's there had no idea what this dish was about. Strange indeed.
I am fully on board with the way you approach this dish, without using a batter and deep frying. I have a better respect for pork then to do that.

  • Steven Campbell on December 7, 2020

    Thank you Best Wishes!
Just what I was looking for!

  • King of Spite on April 29, 2021

Just made this. Had to improvise a bit, but it was actually pretty damn good.
