The DECLINE of General Motors webfi network

General Motors is already in decline, but the real survival test hasn’t yet occurred. While GM is planning multiple electric vehicles for the future, its timeline are far out leaving the company little room for failure. ARk Invest is predicting 40% EV market share by 2025 whereas GM is forecasting its own EV share to be 40% by 2030. This misalignment could be DEVASTATING to the company. General Motors is also working on its Ultium Battery platform, however Tesla chief Elon Musk has warned against using the types of battery cells that GM has invested in. At the same time, Tesla’s full self driving software continues to improve day by day, but GM’s Cruise division has recently has a shakeup of its own.

Do you think General Motors will be able to navigate the transition to EVs within the company’s target of 14 years or will Tesla completely disrupt the auto giant? Be sure to watch:

Of course they will wait 14 years … that way they can plagiarize Tesla …

I am a car guy and have nothing against electric vehicles. My problem with Tesla is their cars are so plain looking. I wish they would put some styling into their cars.

The fact that there is so many Chevy loyalists, I do not believe gm will go under. Every car manufacturer has already been making evs there is no way general population can all afford Tesla, maybe other hybrids but I can guarantee many people will not switch to ev or get rid of there classic cars.

GM has been an EV denier until the politics of green forced them to look at Tesla's success. Just like they ignored the Japanese quality revolution back in the 70s. Then they try to play catch-up and end you requiring the government to bail them out. Too big to fail, allows them to fail over and over again at taxpayers' expense.

Sure NORWAY Leading the world to EVs – if you heard that from Saudi Arabia; you'd be suspicious , yet Norway makes half its GDP from OIL – why don't they keep it in the ground? Sure Lithium Ion EVs that weigh 5000 lbs; twice that of a Corolla hybrid. That means the EV potential for being green is wiped out. They cost twice the energy to make and use twice the energy to move F=MA. You could make 10x more hybrids that could commute all electric with the same number of cells; but this actually would impact ICE sales while selling a big EVs have 1/10th the potential number of vehicles. There are 1 billion vehicles and 80 million sold every year ; Tesla sold just 900,000. They could have made 9 million hybrids or someone could have; but they used the limited lithium ion cells to make those Tesla already uses 13% of world Li production; if they make 3 Million EVs that will climb to 40%. Sounds more like a plan to perpetuate ICE cars and GM.

GM aiming to be Netflix sized streaming provider…..LOL can't make thus $hit up.

People will buy an electric vehicle once not twice. Not twice when they learn they can't take a road trip in the car. Many people will say they don't care about road trips. But the fact that they can't begins to eat into their brain. When people are told they can't they resent it. Thus no second Electric Vehicle.

This is exactly what happened to obstinate wagon wheel manufacturers back in the 1920's.

WELL IT'S ALL OVER NOW FOR GM . BIDEN'S BLESSING❕

  • Roddy Creswell on January 5, 2022

gm should stick to small blocks, diesels, and focusing on what people want, not what the government wants them make.

  • Roddy Creswell on January 5, 2022

The party that bans making gas/diesel in the USA will eliminate themselves. Who wants a vehicle that in ten years give or take is going to need a battery that cost what the vehicle is worth. There is a video of someone who had his 2013 Tesla blown up because it needed a $22,000 battery. The value of the car was $22,500. They can keep their battery powered money pits.

Its going to be very hard for competitors to catch up, Unless they cheat! Cough "Biden"

  • John Claeys on January 5, 2022

Really sad, I grew up knowing GM vehicles were far and above the quality of Ford and Dodge/Plymouth. Fast forward, Cadillac is struggling, Buick will be next to get axed, that
leaves Chevy. I think it will survive with that brand.

  • David Vianello on January 5, 2022

GM has a horrible management that is working so hard to damage the company. Last investments are an example of this insane leadership: Nikola, Lordstown Motor, and few others. Plus the only electric car that they were producing "burned" some bilions. Goodbye GM.
I had 2 Chevy Volts, the first one was good but with a too short range, the second one had a longer range but everything else was an incredible downgrade. No more Gm for me, and for sure for many others.

  • PHCG PHCG on January 5, 2022

Biden seems to be either delusional about, or colluding with GM. He might support yet another bailout for GM, which would delay the inevitable bankruptcy of the company, but that would also be politically difficult.
GM could also consider amalgamation, but really, who would want to take them on, including their debt and their arrogant corporate culture.

  • Art Vandelay on January 5, 2022

Bye GM thanks for the leaded petrol

  • Jeffrey Whitlatch on January 5, 2022

I just want to say, GM has to have many tricks up their sleeves, that they are not telling. I know Oldsmobile wanted to change the direction of the company with electrics. And GM told them no. And then they were gone. I also want to say that Olds did make one, and no one ever saw it. I saw a picture, once or twice, then never again. It was sexy looking like the 80's Cutless Supreme. R. Olds had electric car patents that are 100 years old. I say, they can make one go continuously. And that would've put the oil companies out of business, and they can't have that. Olds would have done it decades ago. Oil company lobbyist?
