    Living where I live it’s practically impossible to get marsala. As for rum, well, I once asked liquor store owner for some and he replied with “Rum? What the hell is that, I’ve had this store for 15 years and I haven’t sold any, nor has anyone asked for one!”. So I always made this with vodka and it was nice. This time, however, I had some chardonnay so I decided to give it ago. It was a bit dry so I upped the sugar just a little, and boy was it good. I liked the slightly fruity punch so much that I don’t think I’ll go with vodka unless I’m out of all options.
    And also, aside from doubling my espresso and wine mix, the recipe is incredibly accurate. I always use exactly 10 ladyfingers and get 4 cups of dessert filled to the brim with not a teaspoon of leftover mixture.

    for my own future reference…
    Ingredients for 2 large or 4 small portions:

    1/2 cup espresso with 2 tbsp Marsala wine for dipping cookies

    10 or 12 ladyfinger cookies, broken in half if making cups

    2 large egg yolks

    2 tablespoons plus one teaspoon white sugar

    1/2 tsp vanilla

    pinch of salt

    3/4 cup mascarpone cheese (6 oz)

    2 large egg whites

    cocoa for dusting

    dark chocolate for shaving

    It was not invented in a brothel, and to say so is kind of insulting to the father of tiramisu, Aldo Campeol of Le Beccherie restaurant in northern Italy. Though truth be told, this fantastic desert was actually invented by Campeol's his wife Alba and their Chef while experimenting in the restaurant's kitchen.

    Do I need to follow the exact measurement of each ingredients or it's pretty forgiving? Such as using less amount of sugar (or subs with monkfruit "sugar") and using a bit more of heavy whipping cream and mascarpone cheese so I dont waste them if the carton/tub does not come with exact required amount in the recipe? 🤔

    Why are Americans incapable of saying espresso? Just pronounce it phonetically, it's not that hard. I know the letter x doesn't get a whole lot of attention in general, but it'll be okay.
