Twitter Whistleblower Testifies on Privacy, Security Failures | Tech News Briefing Podcast | WSJ ctm magazine

Twitter’s former head of security testified before Congress on Tuesday, telling a Senate committee the company had failed to protect users and had put profit ahead of data security.

WSJ social-media reporter Alexa Corse joins host Zoe Thomas to discuss how Peiter Zatko’s testimony could affect Twitter and legislative efforts to rein in social-media companies.

.If social media can be intercepted by the government and state police, the data that is observed, developed and misused, namely, research, intellectual property rights, copyrights, ideas, privacy, activities and agendas, work, etc.

Many professions are harmed, namely scientists, lawyers, politicians, businessmen, etc

and how is social media that is end to end, can the government and state police conduct wiretapping, both messages and calls?

Peter Zatko is a disgruntled employee. His testimony is useless in any courtroom. Twitter is not a government entity, there's no risk to government data. Musk can't use this testimony for anything. As to not knowing where their data is. This dude is a moron, data isn't elusive and is pinpoint accuracy trackable.

  • davenz000 on September 20, 2022

The only question that needed to be asked was "Mr. Zatko, what percentage of Twitter accounts are bots?".

Well I got 20K on Twitter shares that says Musk has to buy the company.
Twitter shares are at a 20% discount ATM, because apparently no one understands a very simply, plain English, air tight contract. All u have to do is read Musk's official response to Twitters complain to understand he's not got a legal leg to stand on.

I know this type of company; their IT security is underfunded and ignored. This poor guy probably had big plans to improve their data security when he got hired, but it was too expensive so he got the boot. Glad he exposed Twitter. Too many companies get away with hiding obsolete cyber security and privacy measures.

My greatest happiness is the $64,000 bi-weekly profit I get consistently from my $15,000 investment despite the economic fluctuation.

This guy is boneless creep. He made millions with his severance package when he departed twitter.

  • Melissa Martin on September 20, 2022

But will there be an Internet outage, power grid outage, before November election day to stop the election? Or a climate lockdown emergency from a hoax story? A hoax alien story? The Deep State and New World Order has lots of minions around the globe. The evil megalomaniacs will NOT allow this election. Will there be a 'China is attacking USA' hoax so a lockdown or a hoax nuclear war threat from Russia and a lockdown and cancel elections until whenever… Let's all pray.
