The sad thing is that the media doesn’t take any responsibility for this problem. I watch the news but I see NO story about what our local politicians are doing about the issues that are important for us. Worse, I see very few stories about what politicians are not doing about issues that are important to try voting public. Why are journalists not covering the policies of our elected officials?

  • Stefan Singhanath on September 20, 2022

They may not vote this mid-term and don't know much either they don't of what going because it didn't effects them directly. They are the most likely to explain about politics. What ashamed not to use the right to vote when others didn't have much.

  • Rita I. on September 20, 2022

    Great show.

  • J A Keller on September 20, 2022

I have always remembered a phrase that I seriously doubt any conservative has ever considered "You can never know if you're right, if you've never wondered if you're wrong."

  • Deborah Gee on September 20, 2022

    S. Abrams is truly amazing!! I’m so grateful for her presence on the planet. She needs to be the next Governor of Georgia. She is so articulate!

  • Big B on September 20, 2022

Dems have to appeal to peoples pocketbooks. People will vote for whomever they believe puts money in their pockets even if those voters have racist beliefs.

  • Whiskey T. Foxtrot on September 20, 2022

Listening to these apathetic losers in the focus group just makes me want to weep for the future.

  • Francois Bouvier on September 20, 2022

Freakin MacConnell's only ambition in life is to stop or remove anything and everything the common man wants and needs. Hence, who should these phantom voters be supporting.

  • JohnnyForgotten311 on September 20, 2022

    God Bless Stacey Abrams.

  • Sandy Edwards on September 20, 2022

I like Stacey but the conversation actually isn’t about beliefs and that framing is part of the sexist/misogyny that has created the problem of the anti-abortion movement.
The truth is that women don’t sign up to have abortions just for the fun of it. And there are plenty of women who feel they “don’t believe in abortion” for themselves who might decide otherwise if they found themselves in any of the real world situations that women find themselves like carrying a dead fetus that hasn’t wholly passed after a miscarriage or when a pregnancy is dangerous to the woman or when the fetus is not going to be viable anyway. These aren’t issues of belief any more than the issue of how to bury or cremate your loved one after death, which is personal and profound for the family going through it, but otherwise is about moving through a difficult period not fantasizing that you can keep a loved one alive when you cannot.
Women with their healthcare providers, family and friends are capable of making these heart-wrenching decisions and the rest of us need not interfere nor complicate the already difficult situation.

JAIL 'STUPID' 2022. Exploited ex-wife's death for funding and buried her on a golf course to save on taxes..

The MAGAT shot dead for attacking the FBI was just your average simple-minded American Fox TV viewer.

It's funny the Australian Murdoch family can fool simple-minded Americans into what to think and believe.

The rest of the world use 'American' for stupidity e.g. What? are you joking, that sounds American.

  • Mysterious Stranger on September 20, 2022

Every time I encourage people to vote, they don't educate themselves, and end up making bad choices.

  • Sandra Vaughn on September 20, 2022

They’d better be voting for Bernie Sanders, or at least democrats as they talk about the issues these folks know are important.

  • Sandra Vaughn on September 20, 2022

That these young people do not have any idea of who there representatives are, don’t plan to vote, and just don’t seem to have a clue is NOT ok.

  • charles stuart on September 20, 2022

No Alex, while it's gives your show some drama to say that the First Congressional District in New Hampshire is a "toss up" with Ever Trumper Karoline Leavitt nominated as the Republican candidate, the actual chance of her winning in a "lean Democratic" (Sabato) district with a definite Trumpist minority, is between slim and none.

  • Donald Hawkins on September 20, 2022

Wow what can you say she's truly an impressive person who's in it for all the right reasons

  • Cary David Hoffson on September 20, 2022

Trump does not like Joe beitin that he talks the way he talks to get you not to like Joe beitin so he can win the election

  • Cary David Hoffson on September 20, 2022

If you do not like some one talking that way to you you should not have voted for Trump you would not like it

  • Cary David Hoffson on September 20, 2022

I notice right away Trump was talking like something is wrong with Trump for him to talk that way know body talks that way like Hitler and putin and other people who have done it know one has talking that way in the United States that is done in other countries but not the United States to vote for

  • Carl Williams on September 20, 2022

0:40 He tells the focus group twice that their political ignorance is "OK". No it isn't! IT'S TERRIFYING!

  • World on September 20, 2022

Interviewer: "How many of you plan on voting in the mid-term elections this November?"
    Grown woman: "What is that?"
    !!!!!!!
I can understand not recognizing every name on the ballot, but a grown adult not knowing what a mid-term election is — WHAT????!!!!!!

  • Bradley Sneed on September 20, 2022

It's a difficult to explain to most swing voters how important it is to research and critique their candidates to make an educated decision. Some of that process needs a modern reform to include the younger population and those on the fringe of politics. Tougher questions to the candidates, and REAL answers are a must. Without this, we invite the next cult of personality into our political system, even when they have no place there. I appreciate this new generation of democrats that seem to embody this. I only hope their message isn't lost on a simple party line. It's only an aisle, not a wall that separates our bipartisan system (at least it should only be an aisle).

  • Jay Gatsby on September 20, 2022

Wow Pod Save America is all white dudes

  • Carlos C Lara on September 20, 2022

In developing Countries the American voting population are not well informed and some stick to the party no matter what.

  • MrSidney52 on September 20, 2022

Sounds like it was quite a challenge for Stacy to claw herself out of years of religious indoctrination into the 21st century, partially.

  • Chris Kane on September 20, 2022

That's a. Lot of clueless people!

  • Neal X Gaming on September 20, 2022

That room of young people are an embarrassment, I'm not ashamed to say it.

  • Ken Albertsen on September 20, 2022

a sage woman. I hope she wins. I'm pro-choice, but years ago, I suffered a set-back, when a woman I was dating had an abortion (without telling me prior), of a baby that I sired. It saddened me, because I loved her.

  • peggy oconnor on September 20, 2022

Civics anyone? What is that and I do not know are not answers.

  • Jan K on September 20, 2022

The main underlying “thing’ of ‘the independent voters’ is willful ignorance, myopic living horizons, and lack of worthy candidates to vote for. Time to spell it out.

  • Nicola Ablett on September 20, 2022

    frightening ignorance
    not even interested
and amused about their own status

  • John Zelis on September 20, 2022

Alex Wagner, the media might as well, should, shall, must, and duty introduce the new model of representation. Vastly different from the usual, however likely to happen because of the new technology. Face it the political people are choosing the way to vote, change things to give the citizen the ability to decide the way to vote. Upon the age to vote, the new voting citizen must participate in a minimal way in the civics of a democratic republic governance, a requirement to pass high school, which is know your representative. All those persons sitting in a conference in silence knowing absolutely nothing about their representative shows the sick society America has and how we got here, living in the same area all their life. Moreover, a failed Democratic Republic of government, how to create a grievance, rather than storm the streets burning down property, or reprehensive about the current representative. There is a whole lot more to it forthcoming from you and comments, yet it is a start. Education will make America a leader in the world. My opinion. |JZ|.

Other news. I got a soaking today. No matter. I may get another soaking tomorrow. But then I thought 2014 and two long drives thru Italy to get a bigger boat.
Did I mention 1965? What are we doing? Jon Favreau used the word TALK. Pink Floyd. Keep Talking and back to STTNG Descent Part One Episode. A holodeck game of cards and Star Trek fan (wise dude) The late Dr Stephen Hawking. John Neville and Jim Norton. Brent Spiner in character. Emotion Chip. Stop it. Stop IT (sic) No. I don't think I will now. I got soaked today.
That was the McGuffin. Emotion Chips with everything. Data and Lore. Datalore.

Democracy will be taken away from people and they won't have a clue it's gone until it's too late.

  • Kelly Cook on September 20, 2022

I remember that republicans cut food stamps and meals on wheels for elderly and disabled people during a global pandemic.

  • Long Castle on September 20, 2022

I just couldn't help thinking, it takes an educated populace for democracy to succeed. On the other hand I have to admit that a long long time ago when I was in my early twenties, I wasn't very knowledgeable about the political issues of the day either. And this is why I'm often so disgusted and disappointed with ABC, CBS and NBC News — which is still the News most Americans watch — but which is really often nothing more than a tepid brew of News Light.

  • B Bodziak on September 20, 2022

I cannot imagine having Katie Porter as my House Rep and literally not knowing it.

  • Dorice Timko on September 20, 2022

I wish Stacy Abrams much success!

  • Jun Heceta on September 20, 2022

If that focus group is representative of the majority, it establishes that the majority of Americans don't care.
