Hyperloop One just completed phase two of its full-scale Hyperloop system tests, achieving record speed and distance. The company’s super speed transit pod managed to go nearly the entire length of Hyperloop One’s test track in the Nevada desert, gliding using magnets. It got up to a top speed of 310 km per hour (nearly 192 mph), which is the highest recorded speed of any Hyperloop pod so far.

  • pforce9 on August 2, 2017

I did not know that the conversion for 70 MPH equated to 310 KM. And when did this momentous event happen?

  • Jim on August 2, 2017

Certainly did not look like anything near 190 MPH…just sayin'…

  • Savage on August 2, 2017

lololol this is mad funny, when they first started talking about the hyperloop they were talking about it going 1200km per hour (800mph). 310km is nothing, this shit is going to fail

  • DisProveMeWrong on August 2, 2017

As much as I want this to work Thunderf00t makes some compelling points as to why it wont.

  • ExopMan on August 2, 2017

Awesome!!! So happy to see such progress! Congrats to the Hyperloop team and engineers!

  • Anders Nilson on August 2, 2017

Still only half as fast the world's fastest train. Hope Hyperloop bit train record soon then it becomes interesting. I really like progress hope they will give updates every week and start build real line in Europe.

  • TheDmanone on August 2, 2017

…….Isn't this just a maglev train then?

  • Stinky McGoober on August 2, 2017

    More Hype

  • rob on August 2, 2017

well, I'm impressed./ I want to see this come to fruition.. its sad we have zero high speed rail systems in the US

  • Luide Mulumba on August 3, 2017

    192mph with 3500hp? I hope it wasn't maxed out

  • Andrew 444 on August 3, 2017

Its Great Joke for people))) 500 metres and 310 km/hour)))) OMG. About Mars better tale.

  • Martin Newman on August 5, 2017

  • Back in my day trains had to be powered by coal and everybody rode in big things with seats called coaches, they blew steam and smoke and had a heart of fire!

  • Dogan on December 24, 2017

I don't like this if something happens your in a lock environment no way to run or get out

  • Kishore S on January 12, 2018

    310 Kmph
    Are you serious
    Trains travel faster than this

  • Corrine Tsang on March 29, 2018

Jiaotong University has finished testing a small magnetic train in a enclosed hyperloop sytem at 1,000 km/hr/CRRC the largest high speed train company finished building two new magnetic levitation line, one in Changsha ,the S1 red line in Beijing and is building 10 more in other cities.CRRC is planning to build a larger Maglev trains between cities in a hyperloop system at a designed speed of 2,500 km/hr.

  • THE REAL ZENFORCE on May 21, 2018

Cool story the speed record is 374 mph (603 kph)
And the Shanghai Maglev does 431 kph daily with hundreds of people in it transporting thousands of people per day.
So unless those records are beaten and are commercially transporting thousands of people daily no need to ride the Elon Musk Hype-Train (aka the stolen concept called Hyperloop aka Vactrain from 1906) for accomplishments that where done long before.

  • S K on March 8, 2019

If its in a vacuum like situation how will the company ensure about the providing breathable air to passengers for longer routes???

It seems that adopting Maglev train technologies is a better option for now as Hyperloop's development and feasibility will take about 10 to 20 years more and Maglev technologies is a party of Hyperloop systems.

  • Eman Elgonem on May 26, 2019

    TGV of 2007 is faster

  • Vincent Sator on June 16, 2019

the TGV achieved 574km/h or 359mp/h,
the maglev train in japan goes even 603km/h or 377mp/h

the question is which system is more efficient? vacuum and magnetic power (which also takes a lot of electric energy) or more conventional high speed trains which don't need a vacuum and are also extremely fast

  • Phillip Jones on July 2, 2019

This has to be the biggest scam I have ever seen. Why is it called Hyperloop? Its certainly Hyped and Loopy perhaps that is Elons Joke?

  • Hyperloop is coming to India 1st😎
