webfi- Lit Motors Introduces Crowdfunded Cargo Scooter Kubo

Lit Motors, the electric car startup that launched last year with its first vehicle called the C1, has debuted another sleek looking electricity-fueled vehicle called the Kubo.
The Kubo is a uniquely designed vehicle that brings together the best of both worlds from scooters and cars: It has a small two-wheeled form factor, but a nice amount of storage space. Lit describes it as “combining the beautiful design of Apple and Vespa with the basic utility of a pickup truck.” Colleen Taylor talks with Ryan James of Lit Motors about their new cargo scooter, Kubo.Subscribe to TechCrunch today: http://goo.gl/eg167

Does one need a different drivers license to take this on the road or just about anyone can make use of this?

I'm sure the price is set in jello right now before you know volume and stuff but do y ou have a target price.  I'm not looking forward to paying $5-10K like a Vespa would cost me.  I might as well buy a Vespa and make a little trailer for it if that is the case.

Well Im a skinny guy, 135… I could strap my wife in the cargo net (and die in my sleep later) or ferry home a drunk buddy! Hah! Seriously though this is awesome. I had a Honda helix as my daily driver and loved the heck out of the thing but hauling anything large is a major pain! I once hada red flyer wagon strapped doen on the seat behind me, imagine the looks i got on the freeway! (Not that this is fast enough for the freeway). I'd redesign it with a bigger engine 150cc, put the cargo behind the driver but in front of the rear wheel. I always planned on building a small trailer for my old scooter :). Man I miss that thing! …dont miss driving it in 110 degree Texas heat though…

I would love to collect this kubo scooter cuz very useful when you go for supermarket or deliver something to post or tranditional market in crowded city or take your pet to the park …….however, the price is not as friendly as its look. Hopefully, the company can low the price and increase the distance…..that would be PERFECT

Amerca needs to get their ass on small cars and scooters… After sitting in large suvs and medium suvs, you guys realize there is honestly no need to have larger vehicles unless your a transporter. I drive about 60 miles a day, if there was a scooter that could roll 100 miles a day I would totally buy it in a heartbeat. With the advanced batteries we have today we could easilly do that, the only thing stopping us is the price of these kinds of batteries today~

So it it less capacity than a regular motorcycle.

  • Edgar Lindo on December 24, 2015

The bad thing its made in electric ? It will only last 4 to 5 hours and then recharge for almost a day so its not a good cargo scooter lol

  • Gold Master on January 18, 2016

The best Pizza delivery vehicle ever

  • The Interest Net on April 28, 2016

good idea but the range is an issue, you could easily fit another 1 or even 2 kwh under the seat.

45miles an hour? Sounds great, would of been good to see it going fast than 15 as seen in every video.
