webfi- Tesla’s Model S P85D Is Insane

P85D is insanely fast with power for days, yet quiet, comfortable, and spacious enough to be a daily driver. The 17″ screen built into the dash is beautiful and feature-packed, but lacking some obvious functions and occasionally slower than the interface in a car that costs this much should ever be. At a base price of $105k, the P85D isn’t a feasible purchase for most. But with Tesla already promising cars in the $35k-40k range, it’s an incredible example of what this relatively young auto maker is capable of.

"Some people might have to spend hundreds, or thousands, of dollars to upgrade their home's wiring to be able to charge the car…"
Anyone that can plunk down north of $150k for this car already has a nice house with modern wiring.  If not, my guess is they can afford to upgrade it.

I have a motorcycle and two cars that prefer non-ethanol premium fuel.  Every time I take them out, I know where the fuel stations are that carry what I need.  If I could afford a hot electric car, knowing where I can charge it should be as easy as asking the car where all of the nearest charging stations are and I will make sure I'm having fun close to one of them.

    Gorgeous car.

The Model S looks like a beast. I love the silence as much as some people love the roar of an engine. There's nothing like beating a car that makes so much noise for nothing. The Model 3 is expected to get 240 miles per charge and Superchargers should be ubiquitous by the time Tesla releases it. $35,000 minus a $7,500 tax credit.

How come i dont have range anxiety in my 70 mile range Smart ED? There is no such thing as range anxiety. I have never charged at a public charging station, no one does, I ONLY CHARGE AT HOME AND HAVE NEVER RAN OUT OF RANGE.

Stop telling lies please, its really annoying, i havent been to gas station in a year and a half and its the best FUCKING thing ever!

Tesla P85D greatest car ever made

Due to the fewer parts, outside of the battery these cars will last substantially longer, and have a much smaller repair bill.

  • Philip Biron on May 10, 2015

Dude if your buying a 100,000 car your not sweating over spending  3 or 4 grand on upgrades to your home electrical system. When you figure that off peak full charge of the P85D works out to around 4 bucks for 253 miles it pays for itself in less then a year. I never understand how reviewers review electric cars over range when the average daily drive is around 60 to 80 miles well below 253. I own a 4 cyl car and it costs me 6 to 7 dollars a day in gas to cover that 60 miles. Most people I am sure also own another ICE car for longer trips on the weekends. Top that off many companies are adding electrical charging stations for employees while the work.
