Researchers think the fungus, found in tropical forests, infects a foraging ant through spores that attach and penetrate the exoskeleton and slowly takes over its behavior. If you'd like to learn more, read on here: https://on.natgeo.com/2IFsAEU

In humans it is ideas being transmitted by communication infecting individuals with a virus of the mind, getting them to behave in a certain way that is of use for the spreading of the idea.

This parasitic fungus can be useful for getting rid of crop pest and invasive species such as ants, but this parasitic fungus matures very slowly, up to a month and a half, and it can get faster over time and typical fungus can produce an average of thousands of spores per second, this parasitic fungus dies after it reproduces, because the is a limited food source, while other fungi that are decomposers can reproduce multiple times in its life, these huge numbers of spores are important for their survival because not all spores are successful, most of the fungus will ether get eaten or land on the wrong spot and die.

  • Super Soldier on January 15, 2022

Now scientists, I know you are smart and like experiments. But for all that is holy, use your common sense and please don't do experiments on this fungus. Y'all already created COVID. Let's not add more misery and fuel to the fire.
